Kell and the widowmakers can pick off tough targets, or remove shields or arcnodes off of 'jacks. The mortar, on the other hand, is great against hordes, a good deviation and damage rolls can kill swaths of troops. The spriggan takes the place of Beast as it has flexibility with its grenades and trample charge, while beast-09 is built to kill things in melee. I feel that this flexibility is essential in a zerkova list, and as she isn't getting into the thick of it, she wants to have a 'jack beside her to put watcher on. The Great Bears and Iron Fangs do one thing, and they do it well: they kill it. They kill 'jacks, beasts, troops, and given half a chance, will lay some serious smackdown on a 'caster or 'lock. If I ever get this list bumped up to 750 (my gaming group likes 500 pts, and more than 500 on vassal takes a long time) I will want to get the 3 units of Greylords I'm entitled to and the Koldun Lord for the Battle Wizard ability. |

My LGS is running a tournie this Sunday, and as such, I'm finalising my 2 lists. I've decided to go with something different than what people around here play with, and away from what I originaly thought I'd bring (Karchev and pButcher). I've now tested and 'sharpened' a Zerkova and Old Witch list for said tournie (sharpened in 'quotes' because, although competative, I will not loose any friends over a game, and I will also be able to play the game rather than press the pVlad 'go' button). Well, enough with my ramble, here are the lists: Points: 498 /500 VPs: 19 Zerkova -Beast 09 Great Bears of Gallowswood 9 Iron Fang Pikemen -Iron Fang Pikemen Unit Attachment Widowmakers Mortar Kell Bailoch This is my take and hold list. The IFP will form 2 lines (front being 6 wide, back is 5) with the GB's behind them, ready to charge through and deliver some beatdown. Zerkova will also be behind/ near the IFP, slinging spells and such around to hopeful use. Widowmakers and Kell provide sniping support killing infantry, and taking off arc nodes/ arms off of 'jacks. I really struggled about putting Beast into this list. Now, I do know he's the best Khador has for agressive killing power, I've recently been thrilled at how the Spriggan preformed with her as it gave her a 'jack that could sit back with her and buff troops/ debuff enemy troops (flare and flash bang grenades) while having a high(er) armour and reach. All this coupled with Watcher and the Spriggan suddenly becomes a beast of its own. In the end I went with the 'jack that was cheaper, had crit stationary and a higher P+S on its reach weapon, runs for free and has threasher and an imprint :-P Points: 498 /500 VPs: 20 Old Witch -Scrap Jack -Destroyer Great Bears of Gallowswood 4 Mechaniks 9 Kayazy Assassins -Underboss Gorman di Wulfe This is my spread list. It has a disposable unit that I can leave at the back to hold lanes (mechaniks, and the destroyer to an extent). The Old Witch and Gorman will be attached at the hip for most of the game so that I can take advantage of Prowl and Unseen Path when I get the chance. The Scrap Jack will be put off near the GB's to put Weald Secerets on them turn 1, making them basically immune to all terrain effects, and with their ability to see through trees and clouds, makes them a great flanking force. Scrappy will then advance and jocky for a good feat position. The assassins will run up the center, most likely contesting 2 of the center lanes. Once near the enemy, I'll throw Iron Flesh on them and run them into combat, making them DEF 19 with Ripost. The turn after I'll drop Iron Flesh, pop their mini feat and charge through the front line troops into the squishy interior of their force, ventilating all who stand in my way. Liberal use of Murder of Crows will be made throughout the game to block LOS, and to generate a landing pad for the OW and Scrap Jack. |

Alright, so my results in the local tournament: loss by scenario, loss by scenario, lost by caster kill, lost by caster kill . So I ended with 4 tournament pts. Basically the games were as follows:Vs Zaal, Contested Ground Played the OW against him, and did pretty well. He avoided Kayazy assassination by backing Zaal away, although I still was able to kill an ancestral guardian and 5 of 6 Immortals with the little buggers. In the end the Old Witch couldn’t hold all the areas, and went to assassinate that pain of a ‘lock. I got a charge off with the OW, and did enough, with transfers to take Zaal down to 1 damage, and then he won scenario. Vs Kromac, Destruction Using Zerkova for the rest of the tournie. Some jocking to start, Kromac left his army out to dry and whacked an objective a couple times. I cleaned up most of the force and chased after him, but he won by scenario because I wasn’t able to get to his objective. Vs Gorshade, No Mans Land Gorshade + Death Jack + incorporeal pirates is brutal. How do you stop an incorporeal unit from getting beside your caster??? Any ways, killed his Bane Knights and Bane Thralls. Also killed some pirates and 1 deathwalker. Was able to slow the assassination down, and shoulda saved watcher for the deathjack, but I'm playing for fun now (as I had 0 pts at this time) :-P Vs Thargos, King of the Plateau By now I was just going through the motions, I’d lost 3 games with a solid loss of confidence in dice (failed by scenario 2x because of it) I just wanted to kill stuff. Killed 2 carni’s, nephilm, and a seraph. The great bears made 7 tough rolls in a row, none of them died. Lost by caster kill in the end because I couldn’t kill a forsaken 2x needing 7’s, and had I killed it, I would have won scenario on either of the 2 turns. All in all, not the best result I’ve ever had at a tournie, but I certainly had some fun games (would have liked to win one or three >.>). Currently making a butcher list for my gaming night: Theres a chance that I may be able to play a 750, so I made a 500 and 750 to be safe. Pts: 498/ 500 VPs: 20 pButcher Drakhun (w/ Dismount) Manhunter Manhunter Yuri Great Bears Greylords 5 Demo Corps Widowmakers Mortar Pts: 742/ 750 VPs: 26 eButcher -Beast-09 Koldun Lord Manhunter Yuri Doom Reavers Great Bears 8 Iron Fang Pikemen -Unit Attachment 5 Demo Corps Widowmakers Kell The theme of these two lists is: “Kill it!” After the tournie I just want some ridiculous games where the butcher wanders off and kills something :-P pButchers based on putting out damage and capitalising on an extra d6 damage with models with more than 1 attack and weapon masters. eButchers list is made to kill one wound models (widowmakers, kell, beast-09 ect) to take advantage of the rage tokens. Comments, suggestions, condolences, anything is welcome |

Alright, just finished my second tournie. This one was in a different format, there were 3 games to be played. Your first is a 750 list (with no epics, you'll see why in a sec), your second game is a 500, however you may only use models that were in your 750 list. Your third and final game was a 350, and you had to use models that were in your 500 [ie, if I had 8 IFP + UA in my 750, and then 6 IFP + UA in my 500, I couldn't take 8 IFP + UA again at 350]. My lists were as follows: Army Points: 743 /750 VPs: 28 Sorscha -Beast-09 Koldun Lord -Destroyer The Great Bears of Gallowswood 8 Iron Fang Pikemen -Unit Attachment 4 Demolition Corps Widowmakers 2 Winterguard Mortars Eiryss Army Points: 492 /500 VPs: 22 Sorscha -Beast-09 The Great Bears of Gallowswood 8 Iron Fang Pikemen -Unit Attachment Widowmakers Winterguard Mortar Eiryss Army Points: 345 /350 VPs: 19 Sorscha -Beast-09 6 Iron Fang Pikemen -Unit Attachment Winterguard Mortar* Eiryss *I've just realized I forgot to bring the Mortar to the 350 pt game, and although it didn't seem to hamper me in the end result, although I would have had more options open to me. First game was against the Searforge Commission running Gorten Grundback. The mission was to hold 2 points at the center of the board 6" in from each table side by turn 3. The first person to hold both points would be the winner. I got first turn, and that basically hosed my opponenet. The IFP and Great Bears took the side that was less supported while sorscha feated and froze the front line of his main force (making it impossible for the unfrozen troops at the back to get through and contest the objective). The Demolition Corps (who were with sorscha) cleared out the remaining advanced deployers (Searforge can get some annoying advanced deployment >.<) and I was able to claim a primary victory. +++I'd like to take this oportunity to point out that I'm currently doing better than my last tournie+++ My second game was against a Cryx player running Deneghra. This game was striaght caster kill, however you start at -5 vp's, and if time runs out and no one has positive vp's then the game is a tie. I had control for most of the game, getting my whole army up to the halfway point by turn 1 (IFP ran, widows advanced deployed and advanced, sorscha advanced and windrushed, beast ran, great bears ran, moartar advanced into cover). Unfortunatly, after feating and dropping a tempest on a stationary deneghra my follow up was found lacking... Sorscha with 6 focus and charging as well as 2 great bears failed to kill her with full focus on her (she's arm 21!!) However I'd like to point out that I brought he down to 1 pt of health and rolled her arm value 2x!!! The next turn, a pistol wraith got a lucky shot in on a windrushed sorscha and rolled 10 to damage doing 8 wounds, a bile thrall purge with another amazing roll brought her down to 1 and his last ditch attempt, cursing he with tarterus and getting bane knights in there... he rolled the 11 he needed to hit her >.< I lost that game by primary victory. My final game was against a regular opponent, bringing Cygnar with Hayley. The objective of this game was to have models in the enemy's deployment zone with no opposing models at the end of your oponents turn. Also, their was a -2 damage penaltie imposed on the enemies ranged attacks (but not magic). I lost my IFP except for the UA Kapitan on turn 1 thanks to the Black 13th and Hayley bouncing chain lightning around. Beast spent most of the game scrambled and feeling the pain of Holt's guns. Eiryss hid invisible in my deplyment waiting for the Storm Lances to close in. Sorscha... was able to kill Hayley On turn 4, Hayley cast temporal barrier and scamble on beast, leaving her no focus (she'd been taking one off the squire for the whole game except for my feat turn). I was able to advance, drop a tempest on her (that scattered 1") boosting damage, followed up by a hand cannon shot with boosted damage... which was just enough to kill her!In the end I placed 10th out of 24 players, and had a blast of a time. |

Alright, now that I've got a few Mk II games under my belt I feel confident in posting a lists I've had success/fun with. 25 pts eIrusk +5 -[Bonded] Juggernaught 7 -Marauder 7 -3 Mechaniks 1 10 Winter Guard 6 -UA 2 -2 Rocketeers 2 Kovnik Joe 3 Koldun Lord 2 With Full Throttle, eIrusk can make his 'jacks go fast (really fast) and with an extra focus from the Koldun Lord, they can make a felt impact on my enemys lines early. However, the real hitting power in this list is the lowly Winter Guard (who have killed eStryker and Darius on their own). With Fire for Effect on a Rocketeer, I get rat 5 + 3d6 to hit, and on a direct hit you'll roll 12 + 4d6 damage!!! Also, since eIrusk makes warrior models tough, Joe will have my WG double tapping on their weapons, allowing me to fire off 4 rockets a turn! This list gives me a change of pace, as my 'jacks do the forward maneuvering while my infantry 'bobs and weaves' up the center as the finishing punch. I think I may go out and buy some Winter Guard... now that they seem to be much cheaper (pts wise) in Mk II. |

Thought I'd post here as it's been really quiet lately. I'ts been really interesting reading through your progress with Khador from a smallish force to a considerably larger one with different warcasters and rulesets. Being that I'm also starting Khador I think it's been a help reading about your successes and not-so-successes.
