I know these boards are quiet at times but I wanted to know what everyone thought of Legends. Me the fluff was good. It focused on the main players in this story arc and resolved nicely. Which meant my faction, Cryx, played a background role. I do want to know what Denegrha is planning. She's never really schemed before so I hope it's good. Unit wise the new 'jacks are looking good. I here Cankerworm can be down right deadly when used right. Montenebra and the Withershadow Combine excellent additions, of course anything 'jack related is good to me. all in all i will happy with new figures and sad because I can't eat.

I'm really looking forward to try out the Withershadow combine. Mostly I'm looking forward to painting them, fantastic unit, but they have cool rules too! I dunno how many games they will ever actually manage to build a new warjack, but having 13+3d6 in the backfield is still a nice deterrent. And being able to safely use Seether with Goreshade!

I love Legends, fantastic story, great (really good!) illustrations, and awesome units. I have played quite a few of the units from Cygnar Legends, and have had heaps of fun with them. Only thing I'm dissapointed with is that I would have rathered Caine get a personal warjack rather than Haley... Maybe next time

From the Cygnar point of view the Sword Knight unit attachment is pretty sick! Sword knights for their cost are really good. Now they become fearless which is excellent, PLUS they get an additional damage dice. So with a jack in tow which they should always have the average troop becomes a Whooping MAT 8, 2 attacks, Str 10+5d6 off the charge (standard 2, Plus 1 for charge, plus 1 for addl, plus 1 more for Unit attachment). That's incredible. I can't wait for it to be out.

Too right, especially with a bit of caster support here and there, Sword Knights will be the consumate dimantler/dismemberers of the Iron Kingdoms, and for such a low cost!

At Gen Con a Cygnar player fielded an all cavalry army with a single Hunter warjack. Jeremiah Kraye for a Warcaster and Major Laddermore was with the cavalry. I believe he also had the mercenary steelhead cav proxied. It was pretty damn cool to see! (750 points IIRC) -981

Legends seems like its been a good addition, although I haven't read the fluff yet (still on Apotheosis) the artwork is breathtaking! I can't wait until I can get Beast 09 out there for some choppy fun |

I don't play the game (might get around to it one day, but busy with other projects at the moment...) and haven't really read all the background from the other books, but I managed to get through most of the story in Legends. 'Tis not bad. I agree with deadpool002 in that I want to know what Denny's up to, the Cryx parts of the story always seem to give you just enough to get you interested but never anything that tells you what's going on! Damn those sneaky Cryx. On the plus side, one of the Withershadow Combine has a cute little skeleton puppet, which I hadn't noticed before. And the Cankerworm! With a name like legends, I guess we kind of had to expect some awesome stuff! |
