If you are atiloring your list to go against Fear, then you may want to look at either The Mark of Khorne or Slannesh.
Also you may want a bit more antimagic, fine if you have Khorne units, but if not then look at getting a scroll caddy too.
Add 1 to the Minotaur unit and loose the FC. Also LA is only really worth it if they are also Nurgled. If you mske them Khorne then give them 2xHW. theyll be ripping through zombies.
Make your warrior units 12 strong each (6x2 ranking) and drop the banners. Give thm all shields and Halberds, or shields and 2xHW.
Maybe mark the Spawn Slanneshi.
Look at using Dragon Ogres over the Shaggoth, far better for the points in many peoples opinions.
Sure, will look into it..
However, warrior units of 12...isnt that a bit small? And the banners, I should really need to try and win Combat if i not wish to flee before them if they defeat me in combat, right?
Chaos warriors are classed as 'Elite Troops' Changes to 7th ed were made to benefit them as they needed it (i.e 5 for a rank bonus) so you should take advantage of it.
Basically they are meant to get Combat Res from kills, not Static. With 6 across, you maximise attacks whilst not making the unit too wide to handle. The back rank of 6 are there to take casualties so they reach combat at full effectiveness.
Also i say dont use banners in those units as they effectively double the Victory pts the enemy gets for that unit if they get their hands on the banner.
I played agains VC yesterday. It was just 1000 points.
I have to say MoK helped a lot as he had 4 magic dice and I had 4 dispel dice wich effectivelly stuffed his attempts to bring more units.
One thing though, watch out for banshies! They are etheral, so you need a daemon or a magic weapon to wound them. It can dodge your units easyly as it's just one model and it can do a lot of damage with the scream. I send a unit of Furies (which was the only thing in my army that could do something to it), but they died half way. One unit of Furies is not enogh to bring a banshee down!
From the other hand I had a lot of fun to watch Knights and Champion chewing a block of 40 zombies, turn 3 there was nothing left. All in all it was a big Victory, I wiped off to nothing all his units beside the bloody banshiee.
I made some changes to the list...comments plz
My two cents:
- Chosen Chaos warriors with War Banner and Chaos Lord are clearly overkill. + It's 'all eggs in one basket'. I suggest either drop the chosen status, or run exalted champion with them. Or add another knight and use them without character support at all. They are tough enough.
- You can easily drop one of the Furies.
- From my experience spawns are rarely worth their points, unless they are slaaneshi.
- Horrors can only serve their purpose in mid/heavy magic lists. Otherwise their spells will be dispelled. Though if you really want to use them, you can add exalted sorcerer and another 2nd-level one. Besides, magic is really neat when it comes to killing those nasty ghostly swarms and banshees.
- Some notes on your sorcerer:
You can't hide your sorc in nurgle warriors as they have different marks.
Always use your sorcerers mounted. 2+ armor save makes huge difference when it comes to combat.
If you just want a scroll caddy, drop the second level.
- Minotaurs dont really need command group. + Make them nurgle, or drop the light armor.
You are very low on model count. You will be outnumbered and against undead - it gonna be a big problem.
Think about using large marauder blocks / beast herds. Static combat res + outnumbering your opponent is something you want to have when facing teh walking corpses
edited the list again
any last minute advice? the battle is in 2 days
Ok, here are my final suggestions:
Drop Light armor from minos, one scroll from each sorcerer, chaos runesword (This one is way to expensive IMO - The simple flail will do just as fine. 5 attacks of S7, 10 of s 5 and 5 s 4 are devastating enough. In fact, i'd drop the standart from the knights if i were you.)
Mount both of sorcerers. (!!)
Khornate warriors better do with halberds as they already have 2 attacks.
Btw, the banner of rage should do great against the undead - they will never loose frenzy - and are likely to fight to the last man - with break test rerolls.
Marauders only work in big blocks of 20-25+, so spend your extra points to pump up that unit of 10 you currently have.
Drop the Lv 2 from the second Sorceror, with just him and a Lv 1 they wont be getting much through.
Boost the Size of that Marauder unit up to 20 - 25 too.
Drop the Mino armour and their Standard.
I think generaly youll be better with lots of Khorne rather than the Sorcs for antimagic, but its up to you really.
