Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'm trying to make a small army so i can carry a warhammer and 40k army, also on a budget of less than a £100, already got a bloodfirster so, what do you think?
General –Exalted Champion of Khorne w/ sword of battle, shield and steed 178
15 Warriors of Khorne w/ full command 285
12 Warriors of Khorne w/ full command, additional handweapons 279
5 chosen knights of khorne w/champion and musician 300
Chariot of khorne 150
Chariot of khorne 150
Generally the Greater Daemons arent THAT good for their points. Maybe consider using the BT model as an Exalted Daemon? Then custom upgrade him and theyre quite good.
Have both Warrior units 12 strong, no Banner. As you have Khorne, give them all 2xHWs for more attacks, and then shields for ranged protection.
Id say possibly loose 1 Warrior unit all together, in order to get a greater variety of units in. Look at Spawns, Furies and Warhounds. nice Cheap, effective additions.
Just a heads up, running a Bloodthirster in a list without a Lord of Chaos will automatically make him your army general, as he is LD 9, and you can't field any other character with higher LD to override this. Thus your list would have to be Daemon-core, Mortal-special. Seeing as your army is entirely mortal besides the BT, this isn't going to work because a BT cannot take the Master of Mortals gift (the BT must be fielded as described, no upgrades or changes).
As with taking Mortals in a Beasts list, i believe if you choose to do a Mortal list, then only the Mortal with the Highest Ld counts towards General selection.
Hmm... I've never heard that interpretation before... if that was true, then there's almost no point in having Master of Mortals or the Chalice of Chaos as options. Something tells me one of us missed something... sadly I can neither confirm nor deny, since my BoC (pg 51, I think?) and HoC (pg 55, I think?) books are currently on loan. It just doesn't seem kosher that you can field a Greater Daemon in a Mortals army.
All that being said, relative to his potential for earning back the points you spend on him, the Bloodthirster is a poor choice in terms of efficiency. Because of his frenzy, any semi-experienced player will be able to lead it around by the nose and feed it garbage units to keep it away from any really good units, and certainly wouldn't allow the Khorne player to get a flank charge against a ranked unit. Even then, you still have to contend with the numerous cannon-balls, big metal bolts, and other high-strength multi-wound weapons which are not uncommon at the 2k points level.
The points you spend on that Bloodthirster could easily be spent on 2 excellent or 3 really good units, which are far more likely to have a positive impact on the game, and at far less risk for the Khorne player.
