I know that it's quite dangerous taking units such Archaon in a middle-low army list, but with the new rulebook I'd tought that I should give it a try: mostly because of it's lower cost (685 from 855) retaining the same stats, with a 1 wound Dorghar (so he can't be slain by shooting leaving Archaon on feet). Hence I decided to build a pure undivided army for Him.
Archaon, the Everchosen (685 pt.s)
2 x 12 Chaos Warriors (444 pt.s total)
2 x 24 Chaos Marauders (328 pt.s total)
-Light Armours and Shields
5 Marauders Horsemen (91 pt.s total)
-Flails and Throwing Axes
4 x 5 Chaos Warhounds (120 pt.s total)
7 Chaos Knights (330 pt.s)
TOTAL: 1.998 pt.s
I'm concerned about leaving Archaon alone without other heroes: maybe with 2.250/2.500 p.ts a couple of sorcerers to throw with the marauders can support him well (having 3 lvl 2 casters), but that's another story...

Can I just say, that I like the core of your list, maybe because it is near identical to what I am running. Slight differences in that I am not as liberable with command upgrades on warriors and knights, and instead have them marked and added GW for my warriors. Oh and I have dropped the second maurauder horseman unit aswell, bulked mauraders to 24 strong, and only keep the musician without the champion on the remaining maurauder horseman.
I am a NEWB when it comes to WOC so I wouldn't offer any advice on your list, but I am interested in how you have found Archaon? Is he worth the points, fulfilling two roles, or do you think better lord choices are built around the juggernaught, with magic support from wizards? So how has he fared in games you have played, I am interested?
Try and see if you can squeeze more kinghts in since you might lose a few if you activate his shiny sword (unless ofcourse you think that he'll survive his own blows, wich is not that hard for him, 4+ to wound and then a 3+ ward save, out of 10 that would be almost 2, more prciesely a chance of 17%)
First of all, let me say that I think all of those are great advices, so I'll consider them all (I'll edit the list above).
I realize that taking horsemen champions at this point is almost useless; I'll try also on bolstering marauders and knights (taking the points I need by removing 5 horsemen).
Anyway, this is my first list with Archaon so my experience with him is below to zero: I wonder that he worth the points, and I wanna test it and see if I'm wrong or not .
I'm not so sure that using Archaeon in 2k points is all that friendly.
I like the list, I definately will be giving something very similar a try. Let us know your experience with Archaon?
