I was wondering if it would be a good idea to use horsemen with throwing axes or throwing spears in the same way empire uses their pistol horsemen. Could be a good annoyance unit to follow behind the enemy? what you guys think?
arg I feel dumb I posted this in the army list section. Is there a way I can delete this off this section?
It's a great way. I use horsemen for march denial, warmachine hunting and to draw out enemy combat units in failed charges.

Does the short range of throwing axes make it hard to do though? seems like youd need to ride right along side your target
I was wondering about this, as well. I've heard conflicting reports. Some say Throwing Axes are a waste of points, others seem to think they're great for the cost. I suppose it comes down to your playing style and skill with Fast Cavalry. I intend to give them a shot in several upcoming games. I'm hoping they pan out. The more shooting I can jam into my Chaos list, the better. I hate surrendering an entire phase.
If you're going to play test with your m.horsemen. Try this set up too.
Marauder horsemen x 5

They're still fast cav so you can manuever around their frenzy to get 10str5 attacks and 10 str 3 attacks on the charge. And the second round of combat on you're doing 20 str 3 attacks. Not bad for 100 points.
