Welcome to Librarium Online!
I am modelling up a warrior of chaos list for an upcoming tourny. I am well aware that a DP is not the best choice for this type of army, but i am playing a heavily converted force and it fits into my theme fluffwise (it is in fact essential to the theme of the army). Same goes for the DO's. I would love to hear some feedback on the list both from a tactical viewpoint and a "fun factor" point of view i.e. would you have fun playing against this list. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
Word of Agony
Fury of the Blood God
Exalted Champ BSB
Barded Steed, shield, flail
Tzeetch Exalted Champ
Collar of Khorne
Glaive of Putrification
2x dispel scroll
15 Marauders w/ flails
15 Marauders w/ flails
14 chosen w/ shields and halberds
Champion has “chosen of the gods”
5 Slaneesh Knights
5 Slaneesh Knights
3 Dragon Ogres w/ GW
Well first thing the list is illegial becuae you only have 2 core choices (dogs dont count) but I think your 15 mauraders will break too easy, and you have too many chosen. I run only 9 and a character in my list and they still do fine, you dont need a deathstars worth of points wrapped up in one unit that can be avoided.
I know your going for a theme but Id rather see you drop the chosen for mabie a sqaud of warriors, hala/shield/MoS which btw do pretty much the same thing and count as anoteher core choice (prolly 12 of em)
Id like to see the mauraders buffed up a bit more, if your going flails go MoK they need that combat resiultion to survive, otherwsie go sword and board and MoS/FC so that they are strong blocks to hold someone in place for you knights to crush em.
And in my experiance spawn work better in pairs.
The other thing Im seeing is that since you want a DP, yet dont want him a caster your spending ALOT more points for a substandard lord. your paying 90 points for a wound and fly, If you converted a badass enough lord mabie one on the brink of turning to a DP, you could get consideribly more "Fighty-ness" outta him.
Sorry for the blocks of text, hope anything was helpful
One thing i was thinking of doing, Like Ztlambe said about doing a 'lord on the brink of deamonhood' Was doing a lord with wings and count him as having a disc (hence fly).
But if you're dead set on a Deamon Prince you need to make him a bit more killy and the only way you can really do that is to make him a decent magic caster. 5 attacks at Str5 is not that great in the grand scheme of things. If you want all allrounder DP you can always go for Level 4 and fire magic. Good chance of gettng the Sword of Rhuin. On a DP that sword is evil, and he's still for 3 more spells for killing. If you've just got the Level 1 there for dispel dice, you're paying alot of points for one dice.......
As for your chosen unit, As you're lacking a core choice i'd swap them for normal Warriors. Warriors are just as good in most cases and you'd save a bucket load of points in the bargain. I'd put the BSB near or in this unit too as the rapturous Standard with a BSB re-roll is just dirty.
The points you saved on the Chosen you could upgrade that spawn and make him Scyla, This boy rocks. I've used him a few times (luckily i even have the old Scyla model hehe) Other than that Ztlambes said it all.
Pretty much what the two guys said above mine.
On the DP though, if you absolutely want him to fight, at least take the Mantle gift. He will most likely attract shots and the Mantle can save him from a wound or two. MoT is almost a must since he ain't got any armor so you can only rely on your 4+ ward save. Don't expect him to kill anything big though.
Either go lvl4 wizard upgrade or none at all. Fire lore can grant him the Sword of Rhuin for killy bonus but when the odd chance you don't get it, a fighty DP might become useless (though he can still spam some magics).
Me? I'll go with a Lord on Disc just like what Lord Borak said
Currently building my poor-hammer WoC army.
I agree with what has already been said and a lord on the brink of deamonhood would look so cool( you cold make him part of a juggernaut like a centaur damn it I am going to do that). As for fun factor it does look fun to play against and with but any descent magic would ruin your day.
Daemonic cheese-how? Well, you would need to start with daemonic milk, i guess...
