CHAOS CAVALRY 2000pts - IS IT COMPETITIVE?
The first army i posted was viewed by many of you but no one left any sort of comment. I believe it was because of Kolek so i decided to abandon that idea and go for a chaos lord.
I tried to create a cavalry army but i am still not 100% happy with it. I want to create a competitive army but i am not sure i i chose the components well.
(I apologise for the name of the thread but i am new to forums and i tend to mess up a bit)
SO here is the list:
Chaos lord of Nurgle - 375 pts
Armor of Morrslieb
Exalted Champion of Khorne - 225pts
Axe of Khorne
Chaos sorceror - 135pts (1st thing i am not sure of since i don't have any unit he can join)
2 dispel scrolls
M. Horsemen -100pts
M. Horsemen -100pts
M. Horsemen - 120pts
M. Horsemen - 120pts
Warhounds - 30pts (2nd thing i m not sure of - i had 30 pts extra so i chose this unit)
Chaos Knights - 295 pts
Banner of rage
Chaos Knights - 260 pts
Chariot - 120 pts (3rd thing i am not sure of)
Chariot - 120pts
I think the army needs some tuning and i was hoping to get it form you guys.
I am not sure if the chariots fit in this armylist and i was wondering if it would be better if i included another unit of knights instead of them.
I chose a Chaos lord but i was wondering if it would be better 2 put 2 Exalteds instead and add some more units like warhounds or maybe add numbers to the knight units or put the sorceror on a steed?
Should i keep the demonic mounts or is it better to use barded steeds to spare some points?
Also i am not sure if the lord build is correct, is the armor of morrslieb usless if the lord is to be put in a unit of knights?
Should i keep the khornate Horsemen as fast cavalry or should i give them a shield to improve their armor saves?
Should i give musicians to the Horsemen units?
i know it is a lot of questions but i would be really grateful to recieve feedback from you guys, it is always good to learn form more experienced players.

Solid List first of all...
but.. all the stuff you are not sure of is actually really good and even essential in this army
Put the Sorcerer on one of the Chariots which will also save you 20 points and a Special Slot
Also I always give Musicians to my Horsemen and i prefer to keep them fast cav
The lord choice is great but swap the Armor for either Filth Mace or Axe of Khorne or Chaos Runesword
Keep the warhounds and use them to either screen the two chariots ( i love to play the chariots together... i personally field 3 in my list - 1 charge wipes almost anything ) or a unit of knights with you lord in it

I will put the sorceror on the chariot as it is the wisest choice to do.
As for the lord he already has the runesword so if there is anything else you think is appropriate to swap the armor with i will take it into consideration

The biggest problems I see are the amount of points you are spending on some of your horsemen. Definitely reduce the slaneesh ones by removing flails and I would say even the throwing axes. Use these guys to control the opponents army, dont expect them to do much if any damage.
You don't really need 2 chariots, I would drop slaneesh on one though. Maybe get another scroll caddy in replace of it. Magic is going to hurt you, a lot.
I don't really care for the chaos lord as he costs a lot of points for not being a whole lot better than an exalted hero.
Ok here are my thoughts.
1) Just like it has already been said I would say take flails off your MoS horsemen. Thats 20 points that can be used elsewhere.
2) I would also advise you drop the lord and make him another jugger hero. Give him the runesword and he is good to go. It saves you 150 points which is a lot since you wont be giving up too much. I personally feel bad for telling you this because my list runs a combat lord, but I do it for pure fluff reasons. If your strong on fluff keep him but if not I really advise dropping him to an exalted jugger model.
3) This may be a stretch based on how you feel about it but I really dont think MoN is worth it on knights. They have WS 5 so -1 WS when being attacked is not going to even make a difference most of the time. And -1 from shooting is nice, but the only scary shooters this will be affected by is repeater bolters, and dwarf/empire guns. Other than that ranged should be bouncing off you like crazy.
4) I dont know if you plan on dropping these units to save points but this is what Id recommend you add in with the extra points. Warhounds. Lots of em. You are runnning a khorne cavalry army. The MoS horsemen arent meant to do much in CC, the Khorne horsemen can just turn around, but you have two monster hammer knight units that can be easily baited. Hounds can act as shields and stop them from charging, they can be meat shields and stop those ranged attacks (drop those MoNs for two units of hounds, same effect with more options), and they add targets for the enemy, and are nice for taking on gun crews. I personally love hounds because they can do so many things for such a cheap cost. If you make all the changes I recommended you will have 230 points to play with. Add 3 units of hounds and a chariot. And that still leaves you with 20 points. Throw rapturous on one of your knight units. Just a quick thought for those last points.
You can also save some points by mounting the scroll caddy in that third chariot.
Ok thx for your comments both Kyuzo and Sdefreit i will surely be studying the changes you suggested very carefully.
So basically what you told me is:
Put the Sorceror on the Chariot -(-20pts)
Unequip Horsemen (MoS) of their Flails - (-20pts)
Chage the Lord With a Khorne Hero on Jugger - (-145pts)
Swap the MoN with the MoK on the knight unit and remove the banner of rage - (-35pts)
I found a miscalculation for the Khorne Horsemen - (-20pts)
Total - 240 points
So according to your suggesions i should use these points for:
Another chariot - 120pts
3 units of of warhounds - 90pts
A magic banner say - Rapturous standard or Warbanner - (20-25 pts)
This will definately give me a much bigger army with more movement options and many targes for my enemies. Is that correct?
