I have a skaven infestation problem happening in my current campaign could anyone help me make a list to easily deal with skaven cos the genrals an expert and i need all the help i can get
If u just want to post individual units/characters i could make a list out of them
Thx 4 ur help
Ah imfamous swarms of gloriously cheap troops. 2 points a rat. Seems problematic, but why not try this on for size:
For the skaven core:
2 units of 12-18 knornate warriors with additional hand weapons, musicians and standards
Each trooper is frenzied, and gets 4 attacks at str 4, intitiative 5, ws 5, making short work of troops with bad armour saves, like skaven troops. You'll cause panic on any core of skaven that isn't immune to it, and the musicna and standard will help with the combat resolution, because they will get bonus resolution points fro outnumbering you.
Also, because of warp lightning cannons and rattling guns (I think that is what they are called) you might want to take some marauder units, to have some fast, outflnking units to tie up their artillery in combat.
To smash apart the doom bell, rat ogres, or to scatter rat riders, use a unit of dragon ogres armed with great weapons. At str 7 (with great weapons) with 3 attacks, they will make short work of high toughness units and smaller skaven elite units. Avoid skaven core units and poisoned rat swarms, who can spoil their toughness of 4, which is quite good.
Knights may help to an extent, especially with a mark of khorne, but put some chaos hounds in front of them so you don't go frenzied-chasing a throw-away swarm unit that was designed to throw your knights out of action. They get 3 attacks each + 2 from the stted, so anything that increases your attack number is good.
Watch out for Thrott's killing blow, if your enemy uses him. It can tear the heart out of your monstrous units if you choose to take some.
Sorcerors with fireball or a D6 or 2D6 spell are great, but you will ned a few to get enough power dice to make them effective.
Perhaps match numbers with numbers and take some marauders, but you will, without saying, still get outnumbered anyway, so it is better to take higher strength and attacs over numbers.
In terms of you lord, chaos gifts can really help. Tak, perhaps, stream of corruption, a s3 breath weapon with a -1 modifier to saves, great for taking out skaven core units with a template. Alternaively, give him bloodcurdling roar, which is a 2D6 S1 (no armour saves allowed) 12'' attack in the shooting phase. For chalenges, tool him up as you normally would with a good offensive weaponlike an axe of khorne or hellfire sword.
I hope I have been of help.
well..... i agree with everything Fleming said except maybe replace the Dragon Ogres with a Hellcannon, ok it is a small template but it is strength five meaning you kill them on a 2+ and strength 10 for the model under the hole..... instant death for that one.... you should hit about 10-12 models on a direct hit so 8-10 dead skaven.. maybe more. take as many template weapons as you can for maximum effectiveness so definitely take stream of corruption, those are my two things, cya
