I've written a List that I've played a few times and really enjoy using. there is a 3000 point tournament comming up and I'm not quite sure what to add to it.
Here is the list:
Level 4 Mage of Nurgal with Skull of Katam, Barded Steed, Enchanted Shield
Level 1 Mage of Tzeech with 2x Dispel Scroll
EC of Tzeech on a Disc with Golden Eye, Book of Secrets, and a Flail and Shield.
13 Warriors of Nurgal with The Banner of Rage, shields, full command
12 maraders with flails and full command
5 marader horsemen with flails
6 knights of nurgal with standard and a musician
4 dragon ogres with great weapons
So thats the base of what I have, Not really sure where to go from here. I want to get Addintion Hand Weapons for my Warriors, but other then that I"m not sure where to go. I was thinking maybe some Killy Characters, to deal with the other big nasties, but I ushually run thin on characters and like to bulk up on elete troops
I wouldn't really advise getting additional hand weapons for your warriors. Halberds will generally serve you alot better, unless you plan to be hitting t2 opponents.
Apart from that it looks like you might have a hard time getting any magic through, with only 5 power lvls. So I would say either add an extra lvl 2, or go magic defense entirely and take less.
Also with 1 only sorcerer Skull of Katam is a bit pricy for what it does. I'd generally always take a spell familiar on my lvl 4, to make sure I get atleast 5 spells, for a better chance of getting the big hitters.
Well, i Have 1000 points to add to this list. I can see Halibards being a good choice so I'll give that a try. I can certainly add more casters, But I'm also wondering about taking a Chaos Lord and a BSB aswell.
I like the heavy casting and psychology tests caused by the hellcannon and other spells. I am thinking of the following character Lineup:
Chaos Lord on a Barded Steed with the father of blades, armour of damnation, and a shield
Mage Lord level 4 with spell familiar and 2x dispel scrolls
Nurgal Mage level 2 with the Skull of Katam
Slaneesh Mage Level 2 power familiar
EC of tzeech on a disc with the golden eye of tzeech and a flail
BSB with the doom totum
the mage lord will take the lore of death and hopefully get doom and darkenss. combine this spell with psychology and break tests, along with the doom totum and hellcannon. The Idea is to draw them towards me and cause chaos with panic checks. The Chaos Lord is there to deal with any really nasty things.
For Troop additions, I'm rather stuck. I really Like Knights and Dragon Ogres and could squeeze in 2 units of each, but the character cost leaves me with having to trim points from other places. I also have spawns and a giant at my disposal, as well as a chariot/warshrine, chosen/warriors, and some hounds.
My Specialty relies on my opponent not being ITP quite a bit, but I think I can still be effective with the power of my troop choices. Or should I take some eggs out of my basket and spread them in a new place?
