I wanted another list next to my all-commers one.
So I tried to make a fast hard hitting list. This is what I came up with... what do you think.
- 1 Exalted Hero + Enchanted Shield + Sword of Might + Mark of Korne + Juggernaut of Korne = 210 Pts.
- 1 Exalted Hero + Flail + Shield + Mark of Tzeentch +
Disc of Tzeentch + Armour of Morrslieb = 184 Pts.
- 1 Exalted Hero + Flail + Shield + Mark of Tzeentch +
Disc of Tzeentch + Golden Eye of Tzeentch = 174 Pts.
- 1 Sorcerer + Mark of Slaanesh + Dispel Scroll + Dispel Scroll = 140 Pts.
I have 2 disc riders .... I think they are great. They hunt together or I use them to take down small units alone. with strenght 7 they are also great at destroying chariots.
The jugger character is my brute fighter. He joins the 5 knights. with a -1 AS he won't die easely.
- 6 Marauder Horsemen + Mark of Korne + Light Armour +
Flails = 126 Pts.
- 6 Marauder Horsemen + Mark of Slaanesh + Flails = 100 Pts.
- 5 Marauder Horsemen + Flails + Mark of Slaanesh = 85 Pts.
- 7 Warhounds.
- 6 Warhounds.
I have just a few options for fast core. So that's why I tried to bring in variety in marks. Ans mark of korne on horsemen is pretty good IMO.
- 5 Chaos Knights + Mark of Korne + Standard Bearer = 250 Pts.
- 6 Chaos Knights + Mark of Korne + Standard Bearer = 290 Pts.
- 1 Chariot of Chaos + Mark of Slaanesh = 130 Pts.
- 3 Dragon Ogres + Great Weapons = 231 Pts.
My hard hitting units. Do I need to say more. I had to choose between 3 dragon ogres with gw. Or 4 kornate ogres with gw. But since the dragon ogres are faster and with strenght 7. I picked them.
What do you think?
Couple of quick comments...
Why the mark of slaanesh on the sorc? not only is the lvl 1 spell pointless, its also never going to get cast as thats the only spell you have so all dispel dice will be fired at that
Personally I'd drop the light armour on the horsemen and give the squads musicians instead
And finally, the chariot seems out of place, as they can't march it'll just get left behind the rest of your army, if you're set on buying a chariot I'd be tempted to buy it as mount for the sorc instead (20 pts cheaper) then you could reduce the size of the 7 warhounds unit to 5 and get another unit of 5 hounds
First of all ... thanks for the reply.
I gave my sorcerer the mark for the same reason I gave mu horsemen light armour....
I had some points left.
Because my caddy will be fielded on his own (I will put him in a forest or behind a building for protection). But now he doesn't flee because of a terror test e.t.
yes .... maybe you're right. since the chariot can't march.
but I do like the model and it's nasty when I'm against HE e.t.
Let's say I drop te light armour/mark of slaanesh on the caddy + the chariot. This all leaves me with 141 points.
What would you suggest I should buy? that is as affective as a chariot + has some speed?
I hope you know how to control all that frenzy, its never fun when your opponent is leading your army all over the board by its collective noses
Null_sheen hit the nail on the head. With an all calv army, you gain a huge advantage in mobility. But Because so many of your troops are frenzied, it leaves them so vulnerable to baiting and re-directing that you lose that advantage bigtime.
I would Never in a million years put the mark of khorne on knights. they are just way to valuable to surrender any aspect of control.
I'd also question the 2nd disc. Without the golden eye, any shooting or artillery can make fast work of him.
Leaving casters on their own are a scout's dream. I'd reconsider this course.
All those extra points you spent on useless upgrades should be put towards musicians for your knights. a tied combat should be tied, not a loss.
I'm not sure if you can have an AS of -1, ushually 0 is the max. however i just doublechecked in the rulebook and it says nothing of the sort, so maybe I'm wrong.
Yes, I have 3 frenzied unit..... of will switch the mark of korne for slaanesh on the horsemen.
Now only my knights have frenzy.
Do you guy play with slaanesh knights most of the time? I am affraid that a lousy 2 attack just won't cut it.
What if I make my knights slaanesh... and gave them a war banner? would this give meboth the control I need + a nasty combat unit?
For all the years I play warhammer I only used kornate knights .... so far I only got baited once. If a unit of hounds dies ... I use a horsemen unit to screen my knights.
But most people tell me frenzy is not wise. ... So I want to try another mark.
What Is you're combo you use on your knights? wich mark/magical banner/command? e.t. Please tell me.
Both my disc riders have a 3+ ward save ... one against non magical attacks and the other against missles.
You can have -1 armour .... thank god .
I would like to hear from you guys again. thanks
Personally I have no issues with being baited, and it seems that everytime someone mention frenzy, everyone scream that it is unwise and you will be bated. So far it just doesn't happen. Ofcourse this depends on your usual opponents, I normally play against VC and Dwarves.
I think the destruction from MOK outweights the loss of control, however I normally only Run 1 Frenzied Knight unit, and 1 un frenzied so that I still have some control, even if the first one gets baited.
With that said my frenzied unit is normally marked Nurgle and given the banner of rage, since these won't loose their Frenzy unless they decided to run away.
About your disc riders, i use the same combination with golden eye on one, and armor of morsslieb on the other, and it seem to stop the enemy from firing too much at them.
