Just started with WoC and not played at all for years. This is my first go at a 2K list what do you all think? The plan is foot troops up one side and the first stuff up the other, to make a sort of pincer movement.
Lord MoK on juggernaut, axe of, kcollar of k & shield
sorcerer level 2, MoN
warroiors x12 MoN, shields, Full Command
marauders x20 shields & light armour, Full Command
2X warhouds x 10
2x marauder horsemen x5 MoK, light armour & flails, Full Command
knights x 5 MoN, Full Command banner of rage
shaggoth with GW
hoping this list will give me something to save up for

All right well as you continue playing WoC you will find out your own tactics, however its generally best to build an army thats adaptable to most situations, so your "pincer movement" tactic might sometimes work, often not. I'll go ahead and tell you some of the obvious flaws in your army, note this is just constructive criticism nothing personal.
1)Don't put a full command in your marauder horsemen, maybe just a musician for the extra leadership on your rally roll, but other then that its wasted pts. and your enemy will often capture the standard in them giving them easy pts.
2)Your juggernaut give you magic resistance(i think) and your collar of khorne does as well and they dont stack, so drop the collar.
3)Put some dispel scrolls on your wizard, you will definitely need them, and even that might be enough but that all depends on how quick you can engage them with your army.
Anyhow you're headed in the right direction welcome to the chosen of the gods!
Thanks for that. It gives me somthing to think about.
as for the juggernaught, I think the collar does fine, at least it gives him some ward, but if you're going for supper survivable there are other builds. Such as a tzeentch lord with armor of morrslieb, crown of everlasting conquest, with a shield on a disc. but this one looks completely killy to me...so instead of the axe of khorne I'd try and find 5 more points to give him the chaos runesword, which is actually better I think.
I've seen a bunch of people running spawn in their list lately and I don't understand why, please give me your reason so I have some standing before I say they're useless. and as for the dragon ogre shaggoth I would say to remove him and take a few dragon ogres instead. Granted they aren't as tough but they have twice as many wounds for less points, they can be strength 7 and there are at least 6 more attacks coming out of them per turn than a dragon ogre shaggoth.
As for magic defense you don't really have much at all. I would say always take at least two scroll caddies. It works better than most people think
I serve my master and do as he wants. He wants the badlands, thus they will be his.

The spawn was really to add a bit of randomness into the army, so I would like trolls at some point. I hate the models for the dragon ogre even if they do seem better on paper so unless they’re a must then they’re out.
