I've been out of the running now for a year with fantasy. But since 8th edition is around the corner,
the rumours have peaked my interest again.
So I would like some feedback from you guys on what you think should stay/go/change in this list
Here's the list:
Lord of chaos
Diabolic splendour, flail, shield, chaos steed
BSB, Doom Totem
5 Marauder horsemen
Flails, khorn, shield, light armour
19 Chaos warriors
3 Dragon ogres
The idea is to use the banner (doom totem) and diabolic gift in synergy of each other, the warshrine is just in there because I think the concept is kinda funny and could help my warriors.
The only models i bought are the 5 knights and the 5 marauders on horseback, so I am open to change anything but those. I also have 33 points left to spend.
Looks ok. Why Diabolic Splendor though? He doesn't cause Fear or Terror so the upgrade is pretty pointless. How about giving him the Filth Mace instead of a Flail? This way he'll cause Terror after just 1 kill. I'd then consider a Rune Shield or Regenerate to protect your boss man against in coming attacks.
He's fine but find the points to get him a shield and maybe the Mark of tzeentch for a cheap Ward save.
Basic Marauders are a waste. You'd be better off spending the points on Horsemen. Otherwise get these boys some equipment. Flails are pretty handy in the new rules and so is hand weapon and shield + Mk of Tzeentch.
Warriors: These guys need some love. A standard would be nice and so would halberds. I'd also make the unit 6 wide and 3 deep. You'll end up with more attacks in the long run which can only be a good thing.
You don't need 8 knights in one unit. They'll be unweildy and more often than not 1 will be left out of combat. Make both units 6men each and then use the points left over to upgrade some units.
Aye he's fun and can make a horrible unit into an "oh my god!" unit.
