Hi everyone, first post ever.
thought i'd post a list i've been playing around with recently. Would very much like a critique of it. My usual opponents are Skaven and Empire. Have had pretty good success with the army, using the M/horsemen as lures and charge blockers. i tend to treat them as sacrificial. The Chaos Lord and the Knights i aim at the biggest threat/horde. The Chosen i use with the Warshrine together as a tag team. The Army has worked well. The vangaurd rule for the M/horsemen i have found to be most useful to threaten the deployment of my opponent and then redeploy, often leaving my opponent with units on a flank all alone.
Chaos Lord - 375
Mok, Juggernaut, Axe of Khorne, Talisman of preservation, Charmed shield and Potion of foolhardiness
Chaos Sorceror - 220
lvl 2, MoT, Disc of tzeentch, Golden Eye of Tzeentch, Enchanted Shield, Bloodcurdling Roar
12 Marauder Horsmen - 252*2= 504
MoN, flails, LA, full command
15 Chosen - 435
MoK, shields, Halberds, full command, Wailing Banner, Favour of the Gods
5 Chaos Knights - 315

i dunno man. but i think that horsemen unit is waaaay to expensive, well both of em. If you use them as lures, why are they 12 big? and if they are expendable, why do they have a 30 point mark and full command?
If I were you, i would drop the marks, and the standart and cghamps, leave the musiciens though. maybe think of seperating at least one of them. 2x6 and one of 12. although 12 is pretty big. 10 should do the trick.
If you need points, maybe for a third (small) horsemen unit, cause the cutting in those 2 units left you with too little points spend in core, you can save them on the warshrine. He doesnt really need a 3+ ward save. especially since he is T6. It's nice, but not really nescesary.

Do you mean Charmed Shield on your sorcerer? Enchanted Shield costs 15points and won't save you from that first cannonball.
I agree with Martijn, MoT on warshrine is overkill, get another chosen instead.

It's a nice list but I do have to agree with the others.
Lord, This guy is fine. I'd be tempted to ditch the Axe of Khorne for the Crimson armour. Especially if you're up against 2 fairly shooty armies. You could just give the big guy a halberd and he's stilla s killy.
Sorcerer, Consider swapping the Roar for the 3rd eye of Tzeentch. If either of your opponents likes brining a Level 4 this guy will soon make them wish they hadn't.
Horsemen. I agree with the others. a unit of 5 with just spears can do the job you want them to. Hell even a unit of 5 hounds can act as blockers, baiters and warmachine hunters. If you want to keep them then ditch the Mark and ditch the Command apart from the musician and maybe the Standard. They really don't need the champion!!! Then maybe split those 2 units into 4 units, 5 if you loose the upgrades.
Knights/Chosen are fine
The shrine doesn't really need the extra ward. On a T6 model wth 4 wounds it should be alright to be honest.
I would keep the Mark of Tzeentch on the shrine because you fight against Empire opponents. When you roll your ward save after getting shot at by a cannon ball, and you roll a 3 and get it blown to bits(because you didn't take it), the few extra points makes a difference.
5000 pts of WoC, 5000 pts of Orcs and now 3000 pts of Ogres...What was I thinking ????
thanks for the input. ill try 500 pts of smaller unmarked M/horsemen units. i tend to have a habit of trying to make units as good as possible. hence marks on M/horsemen. warhounds i tend to just ignore, and so do my opponents.
The warshrine i really dont want to get rid of awesome 3+ wd sv. Saved it so many times, vs. cannons, rat ogres, warp lightning cannons.
