Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hello Fellow Generals!
I've been playing 2v2 allied games recently, which are great fun! Last week it was Skaven+WoC vs. Dark_Elves+Goblins. We lost badly, even though I still had an ass-kicking 13-warrior unit with Festus/Rage/halberds/MoN and T5 on the last turn. My ally had some terrible luck against siege engines and I lost my knights to Lore of Metal turn 1!
This week is going to be WoC+Dark_Elves vs. Goblins+Skaven and I need a good anti-horde list; one that can stand up to masses of poison arrows; some gigantic units; and broken Plague magic. My ally and I share magic dice, so I think one caster will enough - and so with this in mind and without further ado, I present to you my 1250 list.
The Bastard : 215
Level 2, MoT
Third Eye of Tzeentch
Dispell Scroll, Collar of Khorne
The way I figure it, the best ant-horde magic in the game will be on the Plague Priest, so why not steal it and seriously hurt their hordes of low-toughness troops. The dispel scroll is for turn one to counter Plague, and Collar will provide the bunker unit +4 anti-magic save.
The Bastards Grinder: 362
17 Chaos Warriors w/ shields
MoT, Full Command
These will be deployed directly opposite the enemy's 40-odd goblin archers and their poison arrows and will hopefully draw their fire away from my ally and other units.
Suicide Hounds: 60
2 units of 5 hounds
Their main task is to draw out fanatics - if he shoots with his horde or wastes magic on them I will be delighted either way.
I need the mark in case of a direct hit from armor-ignoring war-machines. This is my flank protector and Grinder buffer, I never regret fielding one.
Knights of Fearfulness: 230
5 Knights, MoN
With the enemy having low leadership I have a fair chance of my targets failing fear tests, and with MoN I can stop enemy units from hitting back. Even if they don't get fear, so many of their units only have WS3, so with MoN they will be hitting on 5's anyway. Their role will be flanking the mobs.
Knights of Frothing: 230
5 Knights, MoK
These guys will act as my Doomwheel hunters.
Grand Total: 1247
That gives my army six units to deploy, which should give us a slight strategic advantage during deployment.
Well guys, that's the list - what do you think?

Sona si Latine loqueris.
Well, I've played this list against Skaven/Dark_Elves [the Goblin's chickened out] last night - and I have to say, it was epic.
Third Eye and a dispell scroll is just incredible vs. Skaven armies, even though we didn't get 1st turn we managed to stop TWO castings of Plague and then hit them back with their own medicine. A Chaos cast Plague has a 50% chance of continuing, and we took out about 60 models in one magic round followed by Withering on the Plague Monks. Everything panicked - including their Hydra which ran off the board!
Nurgle knights did awesome, gaining an extra attack from shrine, and didn't lose a man, despite getting shot at, no-one wanted to fight them.
Khorne knights took a Dark_Elf chariot charge to the face and then chopped the silly thing into firewood.
Warriors got feathered by about 60 arrows but only two died, then they got the poison buff from Skaven magic and made mincemeat of the Plague Furnace.
Hounds provided hard cover nicely and kept the Doomwheel busy before finally getting shot to pieces.
About the only thing I will change is Collar of Khorne, which really does nothing against Plague magic anyway.
