    2250 tourny list competitive (Hopefully)

    This list is for the tournament coming up this Sunday at my LGS. This is the first time I am making a list at such a high point level. Here it is:

    I believe I covered most areas of the field. If anyone can give me some suggestions or any tactical advice when I run the list it would be appreciated.

    This guy is only getting a 3+ Save in combat so the Dawnstone really isn't worth it. Most of the things that will be able to hurt your Lord will ignore your 3+ save anyway.
    You might be better off taking a Magic Resistance item like the collar of Khorne or something. It will also give his knight unit a 4+ Ward Vs Magic. This means your wizard can run with one of the Horsemen units or run around on his own, which prevents you loosing a couple of Knights if he miscasts!


    Heroes:

    Exalted Hero - 169 pts.
    - BSB, Book of Secrets (Shadow most likely), shield, halberd.
    Drop the Halberd and give him Tzeentch. This way he'll get a 5+ Parry Ward in combat and will also benefit from the +1 to cast aswell!!! I'd consider the Dragon helm too for a cheeky 2+ save.

    Looks good. Is he going with the knights? Lets hope he doesn't explode!

    If you need points for something consider dropping the MArk. T6 and a 4+ ward is usually enough to see off most attacks.

    To be honest the list looks fine. As you said you've got a bit of everything and have a nice good solid core of troops to do some killing. Personally though, in a tourny, I'd take a level 4 as most probably everyone else will be magic heavy so getting the extra protection will be handy. Plus our Exalteds are usually more than capable to kicking Lords in the face. I find a LEvel 4 supported by a BSB and another Exalted is a good mix.

    I don't really like the Armour of Destiny in WoC lists as it reduces our armour save (you replace your standard Chaos Armour with a suit of Heavy Armour).
    Since you are not using it on another character, I would consider taking the Talisman of Preservation instead. That of course means that you cannot take the Dawnstone, but as Lord Borak already mentioned, that item is probably not that great in combination with your reduced armour save anyway.
    So in my opinion ditch Armour of Destiny and the Dawnstone and take Talisman of Preservation instead, Then you have 30 points left to use on magic goodies for him.

    Other than that, great looking list.
    I really like your 2 Blocks of Tzeentch guys.

    looks good but you have a deadly combination in your BSB. As in deadly for you. I take it that because there is no mount given for it he is on foot in a warrior unit? In which case you have your important BSB with the item that make miscasting even more deadly (due to rolling only one dice) in a large unit. With a lot of the effects targeting those in base contact, foot guys will take more damage when/if you miscast. I would switch the book to the other Exalted. That way you don't lose a wizard and a BSB in one round of bad rolls!

    Remember if you take a Magic weapon you can't claim the parry bonus. This means you'll only get a 6+ Ward in combat. You're Initiative 6 anyway so maybe the sword just isn't needed.

    Looking good. See if you can grab a cheap banner or two. The Banner of discipline is good for your generals unit as it boosts his Leadership as well. Making the rest of your units LD9. The Banner of Flame is also handy as it causes fear in Cavalry and chariots and also handy against Trolls.

    Get the BSB the Third Eye of Tzeentch, if you can find the points.

    It just got faq'd that you can in fact steal lore of life spells and heal with the lore attribute. In tournies you'll encounter allot of people using the lore of Life because it's damn broken.

    If you drop the banners on the Horsemen, you can use them to bait. Thats saves some points, but you'll need musicians on there.

    The list looks really good btw!
