Welcome to Librarium Online!
This is the list I used in my last few games against Orcs&Gobbos - it worked rather well, although I keep having problems with my flanks being attacked in turn 3 or 4... also, I´m still trying to find the right balance between an strong Fighter Lord and Magic support (which, in this case, doesn´t exist)... Anyone got some advice?
Lord with MoKh, Berserker sword (halberd) and Crown of Conquest
Hero with MoTz, Armour of Morrslieb and halberd as BSB
2x24 Warroirs with MoKh and MoTz, halberds
17 barbarians, MoKh and flails
Chariot with MoKh
do you mean one warrior unit with each mark?
because you can't have two marks on the same unit
I would take a look at the new Rule book and look at some of the new magic items. They are simply rather good. Talisman of Preservation and Tzeentch is a good protective combo for your BSB and not as situational as the combo you have on there.
Right. If you're lacking in magic defence/attack you can crowbar in a cheap Level 1 or Level 2 sorcerer with the 3rd eye and a dispel scroll. This gives you some magic offence (alot more if you can gain line of sight to their Level 4) and some magic defence in the form of a dispel scroll and the bonus of +1/2 to dispel.
To find those points you can drop the Warrior units down to 18. You don't really need 24 in one unit as 18 will mash anything it meets. Dropping these models will also give you the points to add some cheap flankers like hounds or Marauder Horsemen. This will hopefully stop you being flanked.
Thanks Borak, talisman of pres. is a good idea, I missed that one in the rulebook.
The armour of morrslieb+tzeentch for the BSB should do its job because the BSB himself should only rarely be the target of magical attacks.
Lvl 1 + 3rd Eye -> I´ll give it a try!
Do you have any special strategies against Orcs? The guy I play most games with is crazy about them, and with the new armybook they´re somewhat tougher to beat than before, especially as he´s fielding lots and lots of artillery...
7 trolls is an odd number, go with 6 or 8 (3 or 4 wide) for a rank and max support attacks. Also, bear in mind that you have to challenge/accept challenges with your characters/champions, so that orc warboss with his pointy deathstick will hurt your bsb, so I'd do as Borak says and go with a regular wardsave
Wulfrik will do his bit of course but he can only get one a turn and you have no idea when he'll turn up so he isn't very reliable. What you can do is take items to protect yourself from the pain. Blasted standard is always good but you've also got the Iron Curse Icon which gives a 6+Ward Vs Warmachines. Combine that with Tzeentch and you've got quite a good save.
Other than that, watch out for Mangler squigs, large units of Trolls, Chariot units and Doom Divers.
I really would consider getting some small units of hounds. For hunting down Warmachines and bringing out fantatics. They can also charge mangler squigs and kill them before they inflict serious pain on a Warrior unit.
