Welcome to Librarium Online!
Right guys its taken me a while to write this list, with uni and other things going on in my life taking a priority i sat down this morning and final went through the list properly and think its perfect. Finlay balanced out all the issues with my core choices (unit size and only have 2 original), removing a 3rd hellcannon (i promised my self though 3,500 points will have 4 to make up :p) and then getting under my 3000point limit instead of being 1 over. So here's the 99.9% completed list, i will throw out the few little niggle i feel are left in it at the end.
-Wadey, Prince of Eternity-
Chaos Lord 334
MoT, Chaos steed, Talisman of Preservation, Rune Sword, Charmed Shield
-Ther'on, Ward of the Gods-
Exalted Hero 175
MoT, BsB, Shield, Collar of Khorne
-Nar'gul, Captain of the Eternal Legion-
Exalted Hero 174
MoT, Additional Hand Weapon, Book of Secrets, Dragon Helm, Talisman of Protection,
-Lucien, Seer of fates-
Chaos Sorcerer 175
MoT, Level 2, Infernal Puppet
22 Chaos Warriors 410
MoT, Shields, Musician, Standard Bearer, Blasted Standard
14 Chaos Warriors 262
MoT, Shields, Musician, Standard Bearer
15 Chaos Warriors 278
MoT, Shields, Musician, Standard Bearer
10 Chaos Knights 400
MoT, Musician, Standard Bearer, Lichebone Pennant
5 Chaos Knights 275
MoT, Spears, Standard Bearer, The Banner of eternal flame
-The scourge of Carpathia-
-The sorrow of Moldavia-
Right so basically, i have 20 points left.... what do i do?
Stream of corruption?
Musician upgrade for 2nd knights + Champion upgrade for 3rd warriors
Channeling staff for sorcerer?
Channeling staff for Nar'gul, ToP for Lucien?
So other then a lust for more hellcannons (planning to do a list with Doom totem + shadow magic + 4 hellcannons = Panic test win!) i think this list is all set to go =D have got 10 knights and lord on DM sitting on my desk all ready for me to finish uni and fix up ^_^
I would grab the 3rd eye of Tzeentch on your sorcerer. it will serve you very well when you inevitably come up against a Lord level Caster. You don't have to use it but, by golly, when you do it's awesome.
To find those extra points you can swap some equipment around on that Na'gul chap. Ditch the Extra hand weapon and the Talisman and replace it with a shield. You're loosing an attack but saving yourself 14pts. Which can go towards the 3rd eye and maybe a cheap magic item for someone else.
With 20ish points left I would recommend Soporific Musk on one of your characters so that when you break an enemy unit, it is for sure going to really count. That being said, the 3rd eye really is a bargain. My only qualm with this list in general is that there are so few spells that you can cast. You only have access to a grand total of 3 spells. This might be less of an issue if you had more access to anti-wizard abilities (to level the playing field) but I feel that, because you have access to so few spells, you are going to be out magicked every game. However, if you could make room for even a Dispel Scroll or the Black Tongue or the Feedback Scroll that things could go your way more. Other than that, it looks like a really solid list.
I really like this list as well, although I'm wondering who goes where???
Dark Elves - Raiders of the Blessed Dread
Dwarf Slayers of Karak Kadrin
Well the Wadey, prince of eternity rides in the unit of 10 knights (he is on a 50x50mm base so the unit is 6x2)
The Lucien takes cover in the smaller unit of warriors
While Ther'on and Nar'gul are in the block of 22 (8x3) This way that unit has good magic/combat character and 4+ ward save against shooting 4+ ward save against magic
Just to add to this guys, i have almost finished assembling this army now and the painting is underway (only just got free time from finishing uni) but hopfully i will start up a blog post on the development and creation of my eternal legion over this summer.
This is def a problem now lady's and gentlemen, so i have some new choices to make!
1. I can take a daemonic steed so my saves will be 2+/3+ instead of 1+/3+ (still 1+/3+ in combat) though i can now be picked out of my unit (though charmed shield will help me take that cannon ball before i get into combat) Though with the difference between a chaos steed and daemonic mount being 26 points (24pts and 50pts repectivley) i would need to drop 24pts from my army list (wouldn't mind dropping stream of corruption from Nar'gul though i would still need to find 4 more points)
2. I could drop a knight from my big unit, get 40 points there and maybe that on a musician for my smaller unit of knights and have 30 point left over for some one else (maybe shrieking blade to Ther'on and Conjoined homunculus to Lucien or Sword of swift slaying to Ther'on?)
I am not to sure atm, i will have to weigh up the pro's and cons of both of these, in all fairness i really am looking to make this army look stunning, and also a final project on a hobby i have been playing for 10 years now (just can't afford it any more) so keeping with the daemonic mount on its 50x50 base would look great and will allow the model to really stand out (which he would do as well due to the fact he can no longer take look out sir test ) but in game terms i guess chaos steed would be better, 3 extra strength 3 attacks would be nice though but is it to the risk of -1 to my Armour save (though this wont be lost in combat).
Well gonna sleep on this, don't think i will get chance to post early tomorrow as im off to Bristol to record a band but i will jump online to see what all you guys think tomorrow night!
Thanks guys! May the eye of the gods bless you!
