    New to Warhammer, need some feedback

    just got into play warhammer with some of my friends, they play bretonia and lizardmen and are going to start playing 1000 points and need some feedback
    Chaos Sorcerer
    -level 2
    -Mark of Tzeentch

    The list looks good, just a couple of notes. You can only take one type of weapon on the knights, you can't have lances and ensorcelled weapons and as lances aren't really worth it just keep the magical weapons as its better to be str5 all the time than str6 once and thats only if you get the charge. Also you should get rid of all champions and just have musicians and standard bearers. With the points you've saved you could get a magic banner or a couple of marks, you should be able to get tzeentch for the warriors and knights.

    Looks like a good start, but a few suggestions. Possibly switch the power familiar for Third eye of Tzeetch. I've found that the lore of tzeetch can be very restrictive depending on what spells you generate. With the third eye you'll also have access to the spells of any wizard in your LOS. I agree with Thescilentone2608 that you could save some points by dropping champions. If you know what squad will be taking your Sorceror then I'd leave a champion in there to issue challenges with. I'd switch Mark of Nurgle for Mark of Tzeetch. Nurgle really only shines against shooting and statistically Tzeetch and Nurgle should save the same number of models against regular shooting attacks. Against templates Nurgle will do nothing, and in combat Tzeetch will help you more. It's also cheaper.

    im going to put my sorcerer with my warriors, would that also give the warriors the mark of tzeentch as well? or would i have to upgrade the warriors aswell

    also if i take out MoN, familiar, and lances ill have 65pts, could i put those points to a differant upgrade for my sorcerer and some more warriors?

    The unit and the character both need the mark. I know, I made the same mistake when i started (not that long ago).

    Why not? I don't have the points in front me but you could take the enchanted shield to help your sorcerer stay alive. Personally I prefer the spell familiar for the additional spell on a lvl2. And bulking up that Marauder horde is always a good thing. Actually you might want to look at making the Marauders GW (drop the armor and shields) and make them MoK.
