Hey, so a while back I started a thread about taking Sigvald as a general in my WoC list, so here's a list I thought would be fun to try out.
Prince Sigvald, the Magnificent xxxpts
-He will be my general, bunker-ed in a large block of khorne marauders
Sorcerer Lord 355pts
Talisman of Preservation
Lore of Heavens
-After reading Viktor's tactica on lores for WoC, he brings up some fantastic points about lore of heavens, so I'm going to give it a shot in this list
Exalted Hero 205pts
Book of Secrets
Stream of Corruption
-He will have lore of shadow, he has some protection with dragon helm and MoT, but I'm hoping he won't be involved in too many challenges
Chaos Warriors 326pts *BSB and Lord Bunker*
Chaos Marauders 287pts *Sigvald Here*
-This will be Sigvald's unit, my plan is to use his ability for him and his unit to walk over terrain, and take my enemies by surprise
Chaos Warriors 379pts
Banner of Rage
-Big hitters in this list, they'll be doing most of the killing
Chaos Warhounds xxpts
Chaos Warhounds xxpts
Chaos Trolls 270pts
Chaos Knights xxxpts
-Basically for flank charges and hunting lone war machines/characters
Dragon Ogre Shaggoth 275pts
-Additional Hand Weapon
I just ordered my sigvald model and I'm excited to test him out. Let me know what you think of the list, is it worthy of Sigvalds presence?!
Oh and I also considered dropping Shaggoth for a second hellcannon, but he brings a lot of speed to this list so i'm not sure about that.

HA! i love it! only 1 thing i take issue with. and i could very well be wrong about. my understanding for the book of secrets was this... if you have a mark, like any other sorcerer, you have to chose a lore appropriate to that lore. any official rulings on this? its always confused me and the wording isnt too clear. it doesnt even say anything about it in the errata... your probably using it right and im probably mistaken but it set off a red light when i read it.
DEFINITELY keep the shaggoth! i think its an awesome piece that doesnt get used enough. and id trust sigvald to be arrogant enough to force such a beast into his service. i think hell do a nice job if shredding anything he sees. and if not, big monsters are always fun no matter what you do with them. hmmm could you use your lore of heavens to blast your own shaggoth to frenzy him?
also, your 20 points over on the cost of your knights, unless that have a MoT that is.
ok i lied, theres 2 things i take issue with, and i was about to post a pretty basic list JUST to ask the question... its about your bunker with the bsb and lord. check out my list after i get it up.
otherwise i think it looks great. just look out for flaming attacks.
You make a sound point about the bsb build, I've actually never looked into it before, but I've seen it used quite a few times by others. I probably will end up keeping the shaggoth, and your right I am Indeed 20 points over on my knights, they're meant to be neked. As for the bunker, I've run a bsb and lord in one before, but it was a unit of 22 warriors instead, this is my first time testing it out in such small numbers. As for the flaming attacks, well I've been.burned a few times in the past for running trolls(pun absolutely intended ) so I will keep an eye out, thanks.
heh its alittle ironic. my own sigvald model JUST showed up about 2 hours ago. ill be looking into such a list. i gotta find a way to get ahold of some trolls. i like the converted river trolls i saw on these forums(i think viktor's?). what do you use for yours?
Nice to hear Sigvald will be getting some more attention
The trolls I use, were the ones i recently purchased off kijiji, I got a whole bunch for reasonably cheap. They're mostly river troll, which I like better anyways.
Make sure to run those Marauders in a wide formation! You are stubborn anyway, so maximize attacks and care less for being steadfast. I think it is a good choice of unit for Sigvald. Your Chaos Knights are noted as being 220 pts, that unit should be xxx pts (do the math again) as you have no upgrades. We should not display these values though, do what you did with the hounds when you have it righted. Dragonhelm seems like a waste for the BSB. You can have an Arcane item for 25 pts on him instead! Power Familiar or Dispel Scroll, fabulous!
Looks good otherwise. Maybe find the points to put Third Eye on your SorcLord?
Warhammer Fantasy: Warriors of Chaos, High Elves
Warhammer 40k: Eldar, Space Marines, Orks
i dunno about putting Siggy into the horde. I've found the horde works very well at smashing things without characters. The horde does not do well at making it to the last turn of the game, so much focus with shooting and magic, along with their lack of save in CC has them dieing at a rather consistant rate. I view their role as dishing out more damage than they cost, and absorbing damage that would otherwise criple the expensive warrior/chosen units. that role becomes much more difficult with a 400ish point character inside it.
I'd put him in the unit with the blasted standard, and move the BSB and the lord to the unit with the banner of rage. He'll add some good punch to the shield bearing warriors, and the BSB and mage lord will both get frenzy. it also ensures the BSB is near that unit, incase you fail to restrain your frenzy (It will only happen when you absolutly cannot afford to fail*bam* boxcars).
Well, i think you can roll it either way TBH. If your opponent doesn't have much shooting to point your way, he is safe enough with the horde. A stuborn horde with a guy as killy/protected as this guy, with stubborn to boot can rip up eve, the hardest of units over time. One time i went head to head with a buddy of mine who also plays WoC. Now, he's very green to the game and doesn't win all that much, but his marauders with the 3+ward/stuborn lord in there just ground out all my fat units of warriors, it was very entertaining.
I guess what I'm really pointing out here is that you do have options availible, and that makes this list all the more flexible/deadly. Don't get caught in the trap that Unit X has Character Y and that is how they go, you have made options for yourself, take advantage of them!
Thanks for looking Into that for me viktor, I had a feeling it worked as such. As for the marauders I'll be running them 10 wiiiide! And 5 deep, I figure with the bonus of being able to move over practically anything I won't have to worry about them not fitting anywhere. Thank you for bringing up the knights cost, I forgot to change it, but I will do that when I get home from work.
The dragon helm is on there because I don't want to leave him completely defenseless, the champion can only save me for so long but I will consider an arcane item, those suggestions are very tempting indeed.
I would love to take third eye, but I'm afraid of going over on my lord % limit, if I can fit it in I definitely will.
You make a strong point there talismanic, I do indeed have options available to me, and trust me I'm not one to keep things in my lists the same for long. I really like tossing characters into other units to see how they perform, and what strengths/weaknesses that character encounters while in that unit or vise verse. I do plan on playing this list more than once, and I'm almost certain things will be changed around, because just writing the list does not always mean that it's going to perform in the manner I intend it to. There will always be room for trial and error
This list looks like it will keep you entertained for days following whoever you play against! Using Sigvald's terrain bonus to get a unit around the table easier makes me want to include Sigvald in a list of my own (I've played a couple dozen games lately and too many times have I list Heroes to failed Dangerous Terrain tests on the charge >.<).
Only thing I see you may (or may not) have issues with is leadership for your trolls. I noticed a lot of people mentioning in past lists that include trolls to either take Throgg or keep the unit of trolls relatively close to your General for his/her IP. If Sigvald is going to be running over terrain like it's nothing, your trolls are either going to get left in the dust, or they may start dropping off from failed tests (I think trolls fail on a 1-2? would need clarification for that). Don't get me wrong though, trolls are the way to go!
