    1500 point vs dwarves

Basically I finally have 1500 points of warriors painted now so I'm hahving a celebratorary game against a load of grey plastic dwavres.. models in this are not too interchangable, but chosen can be warriors, and equipment can change, etc...

    Lev 4 (Tz, disc, roar)
Lev 1 (Spell fam, charmed shield, collar khorne)
in 20 warriors (shield, tz, stand, champ, blasted stand)
10 chosen (halb, shield, tz, favour gods, shrieking blade, stand, champ)
    10 horsemen (flails, mus)
    hellcannon

thats 1500 on the nose, any suggestions of wasted points (shrieking blade is to make sure the i get att, tough or ward on chosen at the start of the game) or anything missing

    Ta

Of course it depends what he brings to the table, but dwarfs are good at closing down the magic phase, Id question having 2 sorcerers, personally Id take an exhalted or Lord

    Lev 4 (Tz, disc, roar)

This guy is very vulnerable to cannon fire, or lots of rifle shots. Consider giving him Golden Eye of Tzeentch and Charmed Shield [which will block a cannonball or a miscast].

Lev 1 (Spell fam, charmed shield, collar khorne)

Since dwarfs won't have magic, Collar doesn't make a lot of sense. I'd go with a deadly BSB if I were you.

in 20 warriors (shield, tz, stand, champ, blasted stand)

20 is a lot, 17 makes more sense with a character, making it 6x3.

10 chosen (halb, shield, tz, favour gods, shrieking blade, stand, champ)

10 is just too small, but if you only have that many then give them Banner of Rage and drop the champ.

    10 horsemen (flails, mus)

Mark of Slaanesh would be handy I think.

    hellcannon

thats 1500 on the nose, any suggestions of wasted points (shrieking blade is to make sure the i get att, tough or ward on chosen at the start of the game) or anything missing

Honestly, vs. Dwarfs I'd go with Death or Shadows, but if you like Tzeentch, you really need to give your disc rider some serious ward save protection.

Thanks, for some reason forgot I was against dwarves, just copied and pasted my usual caster in with the warriors, so collar is gone, have 12 chosen max.. might drop some warriors for them as advised (usually run 6x3 but had extra points so went for 7x3 to try)

Only exalted/lord that is painted is on a horse so not too relevant without my knights (still unpainted)

Never sure of the point of BSB with an army like this, I can reroll panic checks anyway and wont be reforming much with my blocks of infantry, is there any other uses that I have missed?

Defo giving the disc a ward save, totally forgot it when making him, thanks for the reminder, main reason for him is the total fear of him given how he keeps eating through his gunline with roar and fire and eating his longbeard/hammerer blocks with gateway.. love shadow vs. dwarves, but he is a must for history..

new list looks a little like:

lev4 (tz, disc, roar, golden eye, charmed shield)
    lev1 (spell familiar, enchanted shield)
17 warriors (shield, tz, stand, champ, blasted standard)
12 chosen (halberd, shield, tz, stand, champ, favour of gods, shrieking sword)
    10 horsemen (flail)
    hellcannon

    1497

i think in my half drunken state that this is much better, thanks for the advice/reminders

Your champ has two items, that's illegal. Why not give them a cheap banner like Eternal Flame?
    10 horsemen (flail)
    hellcannon

    One thing you forgot.

Need them to cause fear otherwise you end up with fear/terror/leadership on the EotG roll at the start of the game. Ewww... any ideas for cheap fear causing stuff I can take on them??

Been playing that wrong for ages.. just read the wording "a magic item worth up to 25 points ". Doh!!

Eternal Flame causes fear in cavalry and war beasts, also helps when assaulting a building and prevents regeneration - did that get your attention?

Wailing banner or the chosen SB if you're serious about it. Allows them to reroll fear and terror results. Also, BSBs allow you to reroll break tests. And fear/terror. And is a beast in cc. Also, I'd personally give the chosen MoK rather than Tz. Unless youget that 12 (1 in 4 at the very best of times) it's fairly useless on such a small block. Khorne adds 1/3 to your combat potential, from 18 to 24 attacks with all in contact. Oh, and the BSB also allows you to reroll frenzy control checks.
War is terrorism with bigger budgets, guns and egos.

Cheers Might, you're right about the 1 in 4 but I think its worth the risk, saves getting baited and I fiigure its 2 turns till I get there kinda need the durability (even if its 1 in 6) esp against those bloody artillery.

Thanks for explaining BSB, barely use Khorne (except small units of horsemen, who would never be close enough)

Found the cheapest solution to the problem is giving my sorc the sword and putting him in the chosen unit, not as good bunker but it'll do

Thanks for all the help guys, rep to all

the only way for chosen to cause fear and have favour of the gods is to give the banner the common banner that makes them cause terror
