Welcome to Librarium Online!
Okay, so I've put together my first 2000 point list, and I'm looking for feedback on it.
Don't waste your time and energy bashing the hellcannon, it's staying no matter what,
that is unless you can find a different and better chaos death-machine artillery piece).
Chaos Lord with Mark of Khorne, Shield, and Chaos Runesword. 323 pts
25 Marauders of Chaos
Shields, Armour, Free Full Command. 175 pts
5 Chaos Warhounds
5 Marauder Horsemen
Spears, Throwing Axes, and Full Command. 120 pts
Mark of Khorne 150 pts
19 Chaos Warriors
Chosen, Extra Hand Weapons, Free Full Command, War Banner, Mark of Khorne. 507 pts
10 Chaos Knights
Mark of Khorne, Full Command. 425 pts
It ends up with 1 lord choice, 3 core, 2 special, and 2 rare. It's got a unit strength of 87,
generates 6 dispel dice a turn (at the start), and is exactly 2000 points. I'm looking for
advice, so any constructive critisism (targeted away from the hellcannon) is welcome.
That Hellcannon is fine, I respect anyone who plays with it ^_^
I would doubt you will make use of the marauder horsemen champion and standard, either if you use them as flankers (this means there is already a banner for the combat)or specially with throwing axes, wich you'll use to arrasse smaller units or caracters.
Another suggestion would be to kit your lord with the gaze of the gods, you wouldn't want to get hit by a magical weapon that doesn't allow armour saves, or worse yet, a killing blow.
Maybe split the kngihts, but then again you would only have 2 mainstay units with a decent amount of bodies.
Otherwise this list is top notch.
This is the first time I've had enough rare choices for a Hellcannon, and I look forward to
seeing the carnage I've seen in white dwarf battle reports. I see what you mean with the
horsey command. If I drop the musician too, It'll give me all the points I need for the
gaze of the gods. But I'd rather take the 6 of something else, since I don't want to gamble
my horsemen fleeing a charge, and then never coming back.

I know the risks behind it's temper. I'll make sure everything else in my army gets as far
away as possible and leave it to its business. And I'll probably shoot enemy flyers and fast
cavalry before they can tease it into a disaster.
