Welcome to Librarium Online!
What do you think of this list?
I am new to WHF so I look for advice of what to add, remove and why.
The list isn't complete, 100 pts missing. I really want to add a monster, prefeably a giant or else som other big thing, maybe a firewyrm. What do you think?
Do you consider full command to be useful in all the units?
Have I enough tough melee units?
I wanted the army to be specialized in melee fighting and magic.
Finally i wonder if it is a balanced list. I don't now the terms "overpowered" and "cheese", maybe someone can explain them at the same time.

I think you might have overinvested in heroes here, your forces are seriously lacking in numbers. If anything, spend all the points you can spare on bulking out your primary units. 12 warriors isn't really enough.
Full command is a good choice for all of these units, don't worry about that. And you might want to note that your exalted champ has the MoT, you forgot to write that in.
Only for main combat units like warriors and marauders. The knights benefit from a standard bearer and a musician but you can leave the champion out since 20 points for only 1 extra attack is too much. Marauder horsemen on the other hand benefit from a musician and champion, a standard is less useful to them since they should only be in combat against weak units and units that are already engaged with your warriors or marauders (who of course, have a standard).Originally Posted by Jooohann
Hope that makes sense!Nope, the only tough units you have are the marauders and knights, and that's not enough to hold against a tough enemy battleline.Originally Posted by JooohannYour characters are okay, but like Khorne Lord said, you've spent over 800 points on characters, that's nearly half your army! Although Lords are very good, it's sometimes better to have three heroes instead (like two Exalted champions and a Sorcerer for backup). But in the end, it's up to you.Originally Posted by JooohannYou know you were asking if you had enough tough combat units? Well here's a prime example of a unit which is not. If you want a tough unit of chaos warriors who can go mano-a-mano with the best of them and come out on top, they should look like this;Originally Posted by Jooohann
Chaos Warriors x 18-20
Heavy Armour, Hand Weapon, Shield.
Mark of whatever-you-want.
Only Chosen should be given Halberds or Great weapons because only they have thick enough armour to be able to sacrifice the priceless protection added by a hand weapon and shield combination. Plus of course, heavily armoured warriors tend to resist most shooting attempts to thin their numbers, meaning that they'll arrive at the enemy lines in full force.
Tooled up chaos warriors are no good to you if they get killed before they have a chance to attack. Which brings me to my next point. If you have a unit of only 12 warriors, you might as well take those points you spent on them and flush them down the toilet instead of having that unit in your army.
The reason for this is combat resolution. Many fights are decided not by casualties, but by the number of ranks each side has, who has a banner, who outnumbers, etc. If you have lots of warriors led by a Hero, they will hit the enemy, take few if any casualties, possibly inflict a few on the enemy (the Hero will probably do this) and then win by ranks, banner and the odd enemy death. These Marauders are good, excellent equipment choice.Originally Posted by JooohannLose these completely, they are a waste of points. The points spent on these could be better spend on more warriors or marauders, or possibly a small beast herd and a minotaur unit.Originally Posted by JooohannAn excellent choice as always! Although you should really have a unit of at least 5, possibly 6. The reason for this is because Screamers only have a unit strength of 1 each, and if you have five, that's enough for an effective flank or rear attack against a unit that's already engaged with your warriors or marauder infantry. I used 4 for ages until I realised the potential of having 5 or more tough flyers supporting your ground troops!Originally Posted by JooohannForget both giants and Firewyrms. Giants are expensive and too random to be properly useful. Plus they are unarmoured (unless you take the Scaly Skin upgrade, which only adds to it's cost and randomness), they can be killed surprisingly quickly by archers, handgunners and artillery.Originally Posted by Jooohann
Spawn can be useful, although they are random too they are cheap enough for it not to matter too much. However, the Firewyrm upgrade is completely useless (trust me, I've fully battle tested it!), I know it's only 15 points, but if you take it, it's a wasted 15 points (which could be another chaos warrior).
For monsters I would suggest either some Spawn, Minotaurs, Dragon Ogres, a Shaggoth or heavily armoured Chaos Ogres.

Out of curiosity, where do you plan on placing your heroes (with or behind what units)
