I need info on whether this has too many charachters cos i don't know how many Igrimm van Horstmann and Dragon useup.
Igrimm van Horstman + Chaos Dragon
Exalted Champion (Daemonic Steed) (or does it have to be a lord for a daemonic steed)
Chaos Sorcerer (Goes with unit of warriors)
12 x Warriors full cmd
12 x Halberdiers full cmd
6 x Knights full cmd
Also, i dont play very often, i'm more into the modelling. Is Igrimm ok to use just to make up my 2000pts.
Egrimm only takes two counting the dragon. The Daemonic Mount is fine for Exalted, just not aspiring champions, so you pass.
I wouldn't suggest spending more than half your points on characters, not even close. If you're desperate to play and can't wait until your ranks are a little more filled, it makes sense, but understand you'll have trouble winning with such an unbalanced army. At 2000, most players shouldn't have much trouble dispatching a unit of heavy cavalry and two small infantry groups, and after that, they could easily overwhelm the heroes with strength of numbers alone. I'd strongly suggest dropping egrimm for a standard Tzeentch lord on something a little smaller (a disc maybe), and spending the massive point savings filling out your troops a little more, and buying marks of tzeentch for the other units that can take it.
I really like the Igrimm model and the exalted champion, so i really want to use them. I don't really care if i win much...it'd be nice but hey. The sorcerer is kinda a waste yeah??? cos igrimm can cater on the magic side of things??? I'm thinking about bulking up units to 15 instead of 12 but where do you find 6 models. I like the knights cos there's six, just a little extra kick. Are there any chaos uniots with ranged capabilities apart from the hellcanon???
if you like the egrimm model, you can still save some points by dropping him to a normal tzeentch lord on a dragon, but he'll still be 700+ before magic items. The sorcerer is fine, he adds to your huge magic pool for a low cost. Make sure to buy MoT for all the units that can take it.
15 warriors is definitely a better idea, being probably the minimum effective size. And Marauder Horsemen can take thrown weapons.
