any suggestion? i was thinking maybe give the khorne warriors halberds instead and get another fury or flesh hound. also i noticed that my general will only have 3+ save since he's on a monster mount. maybe a barded chaos steed and/or enchanted shield instead would be better... frees up even more points...
EDIT: Some point totals removed. Please do not post totals that reveal the per model/item cost. Thanks. ~DavidVC04

Must've been a good win on ebay - quite a nice selection of models there.
Now then, first and foremost your general. No problem with the daemonic mount really - it gives him a bit more power in combat and I think wounds will be randomised between the general and the mount, giving him a little more staying power. However, your general has no ward save at all, leaving him open to spells and war machine fire. I know he gets a "look out sir!" ward against cannons etc. but it's nice to have a little extra. Secondly, I'd drop the runesword and go for another item or two (armour of damnation and a cheaper magic weapon perhaps??). Your general already has WS 8, and 5 attacks. If you really want another attack, or higher strength, there are much cheaper items that can give you that. The higher WS is going to make little or no difference to his rolls to hit. The rending sword is an excellent weapon - each wound inflicted causes D3 wounds for a lot less points.
Next is magic. It seems you have no dispel scrolls in your. If I've calculated correctly, you have 7 dispel dice not 6, but that still isn't going to be enough to stop some spells getting through. A couple of scrolls will give you a little more protection against any particularly nasty spells which you don't want to go off. I'd also give your level 4 wizard the mark of Slaanesh, but this is only my personal opinion since I like the lore. Also consider finding points somewhere to upgrade your other wizard to level 2. It's only 35 points after all.
I'm not sure what your tactics are with this army so it's difficult to comment on your other choices. Furies and hounds are a nice addition, but I'm not sure about the daemonettes. How about taking something from the beasts of chaos list, such as some chaos trolls or ogres? I think your army could use something with a little more fighting power, especially since you've only got 3 blocks of infantry and one hard hitting cavalry unit. I'm not sure what models you have, but also consider finding room for a chariot. The hellcannon is a very good weapon, but it is quite unpredictable and I think I'd rather field another unit to bulk out the army a little more. In fact I think one of my 2000 point lists I fielded the other day had almost as many models in it as this 3000 point list!
I think the flesh hound unit could do with bulking up to about 12 if you've got the models
Just an idea though
the chaos sorc is a level 2, i forgot to post that. i gave the hellcannon the spell breaker (same as dispell scroll basically.) i know it's only 1, but i thought that the extra power & dispell dice would be more important as there are only 2 wizards.
i had that same thought on the overall size of the army. i just dont want to get rid of the hellcannon, i love that thing, and it's unpredictablity makes a game entertaining.
my thoughts on the daemonettes/furies/spawns with mark were to advance some of my army quickly and distract. i have a skaven (heavy shooting ) and an empire army opponents that i fear will take me out in shooting phase. my slaan warriors are the anvil, khorne warriors are the flankers vs heavy cav., the marauder horsemen assist my knights after they attempt to hit warmachines/wizards with axes, flesh hounds flank for marauder footmen. what i try to do is pair up a main unit with a flanking unit advancing quickly. i didnt take a chariot solely because i seem to do poorly with them, whether it's bad timing or just poor luck on effectiveness.
what kind of troops do you think i should beef up with? just find room to pump more marauders for fodder? or get some blocks of warhounds just to take up space?.. that's probably what i should do.
i like your suggestion on the general's items, i'll look into tweeking that. might allow me to save some points without squeezing my army
oh, and you are right on the dice. forgot to add the khorne one.
