    Tzeentch 2k tourny

    First off - this list is probably subpar - so I am looking for any good tzeentch boards / army lists regarding pre-existing tzeentch armies that have done well in tournies.

    Chaos Lord of Tzeentch on Disc with Great Weapon, Shield, Staff of Change and Eye of Tzeentch

    Chaos Sorcerer (Lvl 2) on Barded Chaos Steed with Power Familiar

    Chaos Sorcerer (Lvl 1)

    Chaos Sorcerer (Lvl 2) on Barded Chaos Steed with 2 Dispel Scrolls

    5 Chosen Chaos Knights of Tzeentch with Champion, Musician, Blasted Banner

    15 Chosen Chaos Warriors of Tzeentch with Champion, Musician, War Banner and shields

    5 Screamers

    Chariot of Tzeentch

    The level 1 sorc is 85 points.. and I have 4 points left over. Should I dump him and maybe get a screening unit of crappies? (aka mauraders?)

    Second question: Is it even worth picking up chosen-upgrade for tzeentch models? Or should I just get more knights/warriors

    Third: Should I pick up instead of the sorc, an aspiring champ with a banner of the gods to get around the tzeentch bad-leadership problem?

    i dont think you have enough units in 2k. i think 2 wizards is fine, both tzeentch, one a lord. with all youre units, youll have heaps of power dice.

    youre lord looks good, and he'll deal some serious death. good one

    in fact, all youre units are very good. you just need more of them. but i wouldn't use chosen wariors on foot. too expensive. just put a character with em and they'll be plenty powerful. use the points to buy that screen.

    marauders would fill this gap ver well. 2 units of 20 would do the trick (flails, l armour, shieds, full command)

    also, if you could fit in another chariot, this list would look very very good.

    about the screen, dont use marauders. use chaos hounds. very cheap, very expendable. units of 5 wont cause all you're units to panic when they run away.

    however, screening is a matter of what works for you. put them on the field, and if you need screens, get em. at XX points a unit, you cant go wrong. but i'm not one to even throw away XX points to unit that'll just die, so i dont use screens. i just try to get to combat asap and let my guys go from there (although i run i khorne army, so combat is where i like it). the only unit id screen in youre army is the knights, but hounds make good flanking units too, so guess it would be a good idea.

    just fyi, my best result from a 5 pack of hounds is when they charged and broke an ogre butcher, just from out numbering!!

    also, the best screen to use would be chaos furies if you could fit them. these guys wont run away and they can acually kill small units.

    that would do ok, but you cant rely on chariots, in case of cannons. even my khorne army has got cannons in it ,so most people can take them.

    look, i wrote you a list to illistrate what i think the force you want should looklike to be good on the battle field, and good in magic.

    L - Lord of chaos - 496
    -MoT, Disk, Great weapon, staff of change, eye of tzeentch

    H - exhaulted champion - 206
    MoT, great weapon, shhield, armour of damnation

    C - chariot of chaos -

    C - chariot of chaos -

    C - 15 x warriors - 275
    MoT, full command, shields

    C - 5 x Knights - 290
    MoT, Standard, War banner

    S - 5 x Screamers

    C - 20 x marauders - 185
    Flails, shields, l armour, full command

    C - 5 x marauder horsemen - 101
    -throwong axes, musician, flails

    total - 1998

    see how much i can cram into 2000 points, still be good with magic, have loads of speed, good solid foot troops, but not rely too much on chariots? in this army, they can be hidden from cannons, generate that extra pwoer dice, and their jobs done. or, they can draw the fire of cannons, which ever.

    its important in a chaos army that you remeberthat youl lprobably be out numbered, so dont make matters worse by overloading with characters. howver, thats where marauders come in. in full gear, cheaper than an elf and very very very good. with flails, they can choose to go offfensive or defensive in any fight. and those horse man. the only light cavelry ive seen with an equivilent to lances (flails)!!!!!! and they're super quik.

    also, i you wanted to swap all or some of screamers for furies, that would help against war machines, but thats upto you. change the list as you need. i wanted to show you how much can fitinto 2000 points, coz most of your opponents could know how too.

    anyway hope this helps.

    I was just worried about the effectiveness of Massed Tzeentch magic.

    Wouldn't you rather have two guys with lore of fire instead? or death? or shadows?

    Secondly: With only two blocks of infantry.. aren't they going to get shot to pieces?

    firstly, lore of fire mages cant fight in combat. thats the beauty of tzeentch.

    secondly, theres 3 blocks of infantry, one unit of knights, 2 chariots, one monster, one unit of flyers. thats a lot to shoot down if you play it properly.

    lastly, massed magic works great with your general. reason: staff of change.

    just use it the negate miscasts only, and youll be sweet as.
