[2000] Tzeentch Mortal - Heavy Magic

Hey people. This is my first go at a Tzeentch army list. It's very heavily magic, but seeing as it's my first, there may be a few illegalities. And help would be greatly appreciated.

    ---------------------------------

    Lord of Chaos
    Mark of Tzeentch
    Shield
    Staff of Change
    ---418---

    Aspiring Champion
    Mark of Tzeentch
    Shield
    Golden Eye of Tzeentch
    Spell Familiar
    Barded Chaos Steed
    ---213---

    Aspiring Champion
    Mark of Tzeentch
    Power Familiar
    ---200---

    Aspiring Champion
    Mark of Tzeentch
    Staff of Sorcery
    Shield
    ---202---

    Chosen Warriors of Chaos
    Mark of Tzeentch
    16x Chosen Warriors
    Shields
    Full Command
    ---386---

    Warriors of Chaos
    Mark of Tzeentch
    16x Warriors
    Shields
    Full Command
    ---290---

    Warriors of Chaos
    Mark of Tzeentch
    16x Warriors
    Shields
    Full Command
    ---290---

    Total: 1999

    Power Dice: 16
    Dispell Dice: 7

    -------------------------

The basic idea is to march forward in a huge block of 48 Chaos Warriors, casting tonnes of magic to blow apart any damaging stuff of my opponents, then get into combat and crump whoever I can.

Again, any constructive criticism would be appreciated. ^_^

If your Lord is not to have any ward, I would suggest the armour of damnation, and a great weapon. You will be able to choose either that great save in combat, or the armour breaker strength you get with the great weapon.

While your aspiring champion will be near/in a unit, the eye of tzeench will be a general waste of points, you could invest in dispel scrolls.

In 11 days, your unit size of chaos warriors will be odd. either go for eithe 12-15-18-20.

12 to 15 chosen will plainty IMO, but they usually aren't mainstay in Tzeench armies, who already have fewer models. Marauders would make a great addition instead.

I think that marching down with M4 will be somewhat bound to fail. You have no flexible units to catch fast cavalry, or flyers. Shooting will definitly your bane, and Tzeench don't hold up in place too well without that undivided re-roll.

You could drop the chosen upgrade and a champion, and added furies and screamers for some disruption against missile troops and warmachines.

This would also increase greatly your model count !
    Best Regards,

    Thanks for the help!

The reason the aspiring champion on steed has a Golden Eye is because, as you said, in 11 days he will be able to be picked out by shooting, and I didn't want him to be placed in a unit, so he can ride around casting spells at people. That way he's pretty survivable, and when I have no targets left, I can flank charge some units already in combat.

I'll try re-shuffling my list to include some faster stuff.

I'd advise 1-2 Tzeentch characters, and normal sorcerors or bray-shamans for the other casters. You need a lord to reliably cast the good tzeentch spells, but the tzeentch characters are too expensive to just field a ton of them.

Beasts might be good, if their new spell list retains the rally spell as the 1st one on the list. But then you need a bray-shaman, and probably a beast-herd to put him in.
