I'm a long time 40k player, but some of my friends have talked me into playing fantasy over the past little while. After some debating over a race I decided on Nurgle Themed Chaos.
All that's left to do now if buy a small army and get it started... If I like it (I've never EVER played a fantasy battle) I'll grow it into a full fledged army.
Ok, here goes...
Aspiring Champion +122pts
-Mark of Nurgle, Shield, Hand weapon.
10 Chaos Warriors +200pts
-Extra hand weapons, Champion, Musician, Standard
10 Chaos Warriors +180pts
-Shields, Champion, Musician, Standard
6 Knights of Chaos +248pts
-Champion, Musician, Standard
That makes it an even 750 points to start off with.
I'm unsure of how to equip my Warriors, so I have a unti of Shields and a unit of Dual wielding warriors just to get a feel for each and see which I like. I'm also trying to keep this army fluffy, and I may drop one Knight in order to mount My Aspiring champ...
Tips and critiques welcome!
Peace, love and granola,
please move to the army list section, after that, the warriors are my favorit, i like small units of 6 by two with 2nd hand wepons for sides of the bored, and mauraders for the middle, oh yea, knights are always good, never leave home without them
This army looks powerful on paper, but I think it is kinda weak in practice.
1. Armies with some decent shooting and manueverability will eat you alive (elves). You might want to consider some screening units, or furies or marauder horsemen to take out war machines. Otherwise they may march-block you and then shoot you apart at their leisure.
2. Your core infantry units are very small. Most enemies you fight with have 3 extra ranks to your 1, and also outnumber you, so they'll have +3 on you to start with in CC. also, your dual-wielding warriors are a little fragile, T4 with a 5+ save is not all that impressive.
3. It doesn't look like you've marked your units, and so the character can't join them. So he is very vulnerable to shooting or being outnumbered in a fight. From what I hear, nurgle is not very good in small battles (< 1k pts.) You might be better off going undivided until your army grows a bit.
Hope that helps

Please, please, please put army lists in the army lists forum.
Create list -> log on to LO -> Post list in the appropriate army list forum.
Having an army and not owning a rulebook is like owning a car with no steering wheel.Originally Posted by amishcellphone

It looks lik it IS in the army list section to me... Maybe a mod moved it already. If that is the case, then I'm sorry for not putting it in the army list section (Silly mistake).
Anyways, I'll get onto rewriting my list. I'll drop the mark of Nurgle for now, drop the Dual wielding warriors for some marauders and post it in a bit.
hey dont always take what people say to heart, personally chaos warriors that are not chose, and do not have characters in them do not kill enimy units, because they dont attack enough. 2 hand wepons do much better. CHoas warriors arnt worth their points anyway s small units with much more potential in paying back there points are better.
