Welcome to Librarium Online!
It has been a long time since I have played warhammer. I finaly talked a friend I use to play with get back into it with me. So he has chosen empire and im sticking with chaos.
That being said I have a feeling that he is proable going to go pretty heavy in shooting, as he knows the havoc chaos can reach once it gets into hand to hand. So any advice for tactics or changes would be great. I know adding some muruders is going to be a big one I will add some as the army grows I just feel at 1000pts sticking with what brought ya to the dance is the way to go instead of watering down your army with slightly better humans.
asp champ w/ enchanted shield
Bray Shaman lvl 2 w/ gortooth and spell familar
14 warriors w/ shields and extra hw full command.
general will join this unit.
4 knights of chaos. standard equipment
Beast herd. 11 gors w/ extra hw 6 ungors w/ spears uint includes a foe render
shaman will go here
2x firewryms or Tzen
puts me about 17 pts over.
The 1 thing that worries me is im pretty sure he is going to go over board with the shooting. Even with the screen I will be very surprised if my knights even live long enough to see combat. But shockingly being the 2nd cheepest unit im fielding if i can destract even 1/2 his shooting for a couple rounds id say it would be a moral victory.
I am unsure what to do with my beast herd. One thought was to bring them to bear on the center of my army screening my warriors. I have a pretty good feeling he is going to see my general in that unit of warriors and come after it with some knights. The reason why I bought the full command for the warriors was to side track his general in case he has something nasty (dont know a lot about empire). Kinda the same for the beast herd as far as the unit champ. But I figure with bears anger the shaman could prove to make up his points ten fold. I just feel like i might be asking a little to much out of that unit.. We shall find out. As far as the spawn i figured i put one on the flank of the warriors just in case he some how manages to out manuver me and one on the flank oposite the knights .. just to get his attention. Im not sure about the spawn we will see how it goes
Well i dont see much wrong with the list but the main thing is that extra 17 points. 1000 points is the limit man, so dont go over it. You can easily take out something to make it fit, like some ungors or gors. Also, dont take a unit of 14 just so that when u put a charachter in it you will get extra rank bonuses. Take 15 so that the general is free to jump out and persue a spellcaster or warmachine or small skirmish unit. Overal decent list. DE.

Vampire Counts - 3500 Points
Orcs And Goblins - 2000 Points
I'd say drop the Firewyrm upgrade from your Spawn. Breath weapons are only good if you're exactly the right distance away, and the spawns' random movement will make precise movement impossible.
I wouldn't suggest double-arming your warriors. The rules let you do it, but you can only use one at a time and it's a point sink. I agree with uping those warriors to 15 so you have more character flexibilty. The beast heard has 17 guys, which would also benefit from a more rounded number (1.
You should get rid of the champions in your regiments, useless for the point cost just to get one more attack.
I'd say drop the firewyrm upgrades, and maybe drop the spawn entirely. They are unpredictable, and thus unreliable as flank guards. If you have access to some maruader horsemen, I'd replace 1 spawn with them, being able to marchblock can prevent headaches.
I agree about not-double arming the warriors, I'd stick with 2 hand weapons. infantry marauders are really much better for static CR, you need kills from warriors.
I believe the 1st spell in the shadow list is the one that allows flight. You could give your bray-shaman that, and the item that allows bear's anger as a spell, and then have a flying nasty character. Or equip your hero with the book that makes him a level 1 caster, and he can do the same. or BOTH, if you are particularly vicious!
In a unit that doesn't carry characters though, the benefit of a champion is questionable. But I don't see that problem here.
The entire purpose of the Gnoblar Groinbiter, who has no stats increase and costs +2, is to give him the ability to figt challenges, and halt an enemy killing machine for (only) one turn. Poor fellow.

Ok Im confussed... Why cant I use two hand weapons in combat? The idea was to use the sheild for marching and incase i get charged and the addtional hw if i charge or in the second round after being charged. To me 4 pts extra per model is more effecent than 12 (or what ever it is to make them chosen) for the same results.
As far as the army goes Im leaning towards removeing the unit champ form the warriors and removeing both spawns for a unit of 20 mauraders and put the general in that unit which will leave me some points left over to play with.. what do ya think?
I don't think anyone suggested that you can't use two hand weapons in combat. What the point was is that while you are allowed to purchase more than one weapon upgrade for a unit, it's not usually a good idea. You can't use them all at once, so what you should be doing is just equipping your guys with one or the other and using that. Less points that way.
As for the changes I think they would be welcome.
If I'm wrong about this please let me know. I know in 6th edition you were stuck with your original weapon decision, I haven't read that this changed anywhere.
Alright since im in the middle of a blizzard I was bored and redid the army. Come to find out I miscalculated on my first attempt and had more points than I thought. Anyway I think this takes into account everyones addvise and still keeps my core ideas.
Asp Champ MoU

Bray Shaman lvl 2 will go in the beast herd
4x Knights of Chaos MoU
