ok, I ran a tourny and got my ass handed to me by a couple of skirmishing armies (WE and LM) and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on either how to deal with the skirmishers or just basic stuff about my army. here it is:
Deamon prince, lvl4 mage, MoS, blde of aether, and reroll wounds in rnd1 of combat.
Exalted Deamon, lvl2 mage, spell eater.
6 mounted deamonetts
5 knights, MoS, war banner
1 giant mutant monstrosity
Since nothing in your army can flee from charges, you are very predictable. This is an unavoidable problem with Daemonic armies, and often a problem with Slaanesh. It means the armies that DO flee (especially WE and skink-heavy LM) are going to run you around in circles. At least you aren't Khorne, so you don't HAVE to charge all the time.
If you have two giant flying daemons, the rest of the army needs to be fast enough to support them. Drop the daemon infantry, they just aren't fast/maneuverable enough to keep up. You might think about beast-herds, the maneuverability and numbers will help against the skirmishers. Or more mounted daemonettes, knights or something.
You should also think about dropping a daemonic character, they are a TON of points in 1 model. The rest of your army is very small and the daemons can't be everywhere at once.
Hope it helps!
Arena of Death Champion: Nexim of the Guldskullz Tribe. Fear my wrath!
I ran this same list at another tourny and absolutely pwned the opposition. I learned from my mistakes of last time, shuch as the heros are not as powerful as a whole unit, they can pick out the heros, only charge with combined charges, ect. it helped alot. the worst parts are when my mages miscast, which they did a total of 8 times over 12 turns! once being snatched up completely. I did like having the daemonetts there with my giant though, they give him a rank bonous, flank charge, and possible outnumbering, with fear that is great!
I really think the problem was HOW I played it the first time...too recklessly. the daemonetts are slow true, but I really don't think I need them till about the 3rd turn anyway because before that my faster units are killing his weak stuff, I just need the girls for the bigger units.
