Single Hand Wepons
Two Hand Wepaons
Single Hand Weapons and Shields
Two Hand Weapons and Shields
Halberds and Shields
Great Weapons and Shields
I was wondering how everyone likes to equip their nurgle chaos warriors (or how they would equip them if they ever used them) and why. Thanks.
I'd say double hand weapon and shield, but theyre expensive as is. i dunno...

The extra 5 or 6 S4 attacks are not going to be worth the 50-80pts you spend on AHW. Plus it means they'll get killed.
If you really want them to have more attacks you might as well splurge the extra 3 pts per and make them chosen. But again thats a lot of points.
Nurgle is tough b/c you want to outnumber but they are so costly.
I would say let a character stack up the wounds. S4 just isn't going to cut it.
what about halberds? the problem is though, like you said, "they'll get killed"
oh, and i'm fighting 3 elf armies so str 4 is fine
This is true.Nurgle is tough b/c you want to outnumber but they are so costly.
But to help your cause you should be making your warriors as survivable as possible, i.e. hand weapons and shields.I would say let a character stack up the wounds. S4 just isn't going to cut it.strength 4 is excellent against elves. wounding on 3's and reducing their armour saves to 5-6+.oh, and i'm fighting 3 elf armies so str 4 is fine
I also agree that having at least an aspiring champion in the unit is a good idea. This time with 2 hand weapons. 4 more strength 5 attacks will do wonders. Not necessary against elves.what about halberds?Making them chosen just isn't cost effective. At a base cost of 20 points a model a unit of 20 will cost you in excess of 400 points. Way to much to spend on a single unit.If you really want them to have more attacks you might as well splurge the extra 3 pts per and make them chosen. But again thats a lot of points.
Your best bet is warriors with hand weapons and shields. A character in the front rank and nothing but a standard in the unit.
Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares, your a mile away and you have his shoes!!
Chuck Norris invented water
why shields, i think u should just trust on the fear they cause and strike ur enemies down with lots of attacks
I agree... against elves you should just take an extra hand weapon or hand weapon and shield... if you do hand weapon and shield put an aspiring in the unit with add hand wep. he'll do all the damage you need while your warriors take the hits and armor save them. 5 str 4 from warriors and 4 str 5 from aspiring = death, but watch out because most likely they'll charge 1st so.. id say hand weapon and shield is better
Elves are fragile.. and once you out number its game over
Death draws near.
Much as it may not be cost effective, I cant resist upgrading to Chosen with my first unit of warriors and usually my Knights as well.
The trick with chosen is to not consider them a "core" choice as such, while they are technically a core unit, think of them as a special. Because stat-wise, they might as well be.
With chosen I like shields, because 2 attacks apiece is acceptable and I just go all warm inside when I consider the amazingness of armour save.
With normal warriors, halberds are probably the most effective, but give them shields to give them an edge (or at least remove a point) vs shooting.
EDIT: Noncebuckets, after saying that I promptly went and clicked on the wrong option. Typical. One more vote to "Halberds and Shields", use your imagination.
EDIT EDIT: Oh, after paying a bit more attention and READING the thread, not just looking at it and letting the words bounce off the back of my skull yeah, 2 Hand Weapons or Hand wapons and shields. Continually missed the word "elves" first time around.
The name refers to facial hair, not playing style.Originally Posted by A news vendor's stand, London, June 1940
