Hello I'm pretty new to fantasy and decided I want to start a Chaos army. I will play against mostly scaven and dwarves. Can I take units from both books? Like some pestigors and mortal warriors?
I really like the Chaos knights what is a good size unit to field them in?
Thanks for any and all help.
The two books, Hordes and Beasts, are perfectly compatable. The slts which each unit takes up (core or special) depends on your general. If you have a mortal general, mortal units are core, and beast and deamon special. The same is true switching the words mortal/beast/deamon.
As for knights, units of 5 or 6 are best (or 5 with a character)
Deceiver more or less summed it up.
The units from both books are perfectly interchangeable depending on a few things.
1- the general. This will dictate the nature of your core units and what slots the others take up. i.e. a mortal general means beast/daemonic units take up special and rare spots and the same applies to the other characters.
2- your core selection. This is basically an extension of the general point. make sure you take enough core units of the proper denomination, i.e beasts, mortal or daemonic. And the best thing is that they actually come in a box of 5!! My stupid Cold one knights came in a box of 4....most annoying,As for knights, units of 5 or 6 are best (or 5 with a character)
