Hi everyone - i was just wondering if anyone had a really cool Slaanesh paint scheme that they would recommend. I just finished painting a unit of 20 Chaos Warriors of Slaanesh and 5 Knights of Slaanesh-i think they look really cool.
First of all, Slaanesh is one of those things that can either look really great or suuuuper crappy - because of the colors and all. I am confident that mine look good on account of I basically did the paint scheme from the LORD OF SLAANESH ON BOOBWORM on ALL of them - that was a real time commitment to paint those guys and i am not sure i would do it again - additionally i painted the inside of their cloaks like flayed flesh (elf flesh, veins in red, diluted red ink, highlight tentacle pink, 'ard coat -- basically they look like wet, flesh freshly ripped off of a beast or something.
I know a picture is worth a thousand words but my wife's digital camera is broken atm so words will have to do.
Any ideas for painting black to look really layered and rich for the outside of their cloaks??
Any idea for alternate Slaaneshi paint schemes that look good and are a bit easier to do than the LOrd on Boobworm scheme?
Unfortunately, I got no digicam so I can't post my works, but my basic work for slaanesh: armour plates, helmet and shield in a base coat of midnight blue, only slightly accentuated with enchanted blue (this can be skipped for quicker work )
Chainmail parts of the model, weapon, horns of the helmet and shield enblem with mithril silver (ans if yoou fancy it, some exalted parts of the armor, too)
This gives a nice contrast to the rich, dark base colour.
For the fur part of the coat around the shoulders: base in scab red (or red gore), drybrushed with blood red.
The rest of the coat (and boots and gloves) in scorched brown, a bit darkened with black ink (dilute with about 50% water unless you want the brown being really dark 0: )
Given that other parts of your slaaneshi troops are somewhat similar (my daemonettes have enchanted blue as skin colour) it'll look very nice.
As a bonus your warriors will be able to double as undivided or tzeentch troops with this colour scheme, should the need ever arise :party2:
It ain't easy bein' green... :-)
Thanks Orkbert, i like your idea of making them also useable as Tzeench and Undivided - i like the idea of using Tzeench ones especially since i have Tzeench lord and also Galrauch. Thanks for your help.
