I was wondering how beasts are used in a mortal army (ex are they all considered special like daemons or is it different?) I have been thinking about a marauder army and thought that maybe a few ambushing units might really be fun to play with. Thanks in Advance!!!!
P.S. to MODS, sorry if this should have been put in the rules section
As far as I know, if you're running a mortal general, all Beasts of Chaos units you take automatically are classfied as special, similar to daemons. I've never used beasts in my chaos army though and don't have the BoC army book to look through, so take my words with a grain of salt.
Mortal ArmyCore = MortalsBeast Ary
Special = Demon/BeastsCore = BeastsDemon Army
Special = Mortal/DemonCore = DemonsI think the rares are the same for all 3 though, Giants, Dragon Ogres, Spawns, dogs of war
Special = Mortal/Beasts
Both above posts are correct. However, If you are using a Marauder army, thets suggesting you will have a Mortal General. Not only making beasts Special, but also meaning you wont be able to make use of their ambush special rule.
Beast herd units can still make a great addition though, cheap, expendible skirmisher units, costing as little as 55pts. I usually recomend a Champ and Musician, but it depends exactly how you will be using them.
