Is Slaanesh a magic heavy army? or can it be played out as a combat-heavy army?
What do you guys usually use in 2k pt game?
.. on a side question, is Nurgle the least played mark of all Hordes of Chaos?
Anima Tactics - try it out!
Well Slaanesh can do both very well, the cc-orientated version usually mixed with some units that can flee as a charge reaction so you can still bait your enemy (some employ an undivided BSB with the banner of the Gods in that case)
As for your side question: no, it's not the least played mark (at least there's no big difference)
It's only that the MoN is a bit pricey for the Units compared to its effectiveness (causing fear is in most cases only useful when you manage to outnumber) with maybe the only exception of Nurgle Minotaurs
But for the Characters it's OK (causing fear is a nice bonus, the extra wound is waaay more useful) not to mention the Nurgle magic lore.
It ain't easy bein' green... :-)
Personally i dont play Slannesh, yet, but im looking at it for me Beasts. In which case ill just be using the mark as much as possibly for its ability. The mark is fairly cheap so will just be used to help overcome one of the armies weaknesses.

In my experience i found slaanesh magic awesome.
In my standard undivided list i run a mix of slaanesh and tzeentch magic, which grants the best chances that i can manipulate the enemy in every way i like (subtle and obscure laughs).
About combat capabilities, i think it depends on the foe you're facing, because being immune to psychology can make you win a battle against fear causing armies; but that can make you lose another one if you'd have liked to flee from charges.
I'm quite sure that a block of chaos warriors or knights with the MoS would not feel so good after getting a cavalry charge, and then they would have to test break as normal (......i want the old chaos rules back!!!).
But you can save the majority of your warriors, or maybe all of them, by fielding appropriate heroes. Imo it's convenient to field one with the whip of pleasure and one with the helm of many eyes: they should prevent the charging enemy from making heavy casualties.
It's better, it's shiny, it's warped...it's Chaos.
