Welcome to Librarium Online!
I've been playing against an empire player friend and pretty much sticking it to him hard every game in 6th ed. Now, in 7th, we have very close games that go either way depending on critical dice rolls. One of the main things that hurt me is the detachments versus my rank and file so I've been trying to solve this issue.
I came up with this simple tool-up for a detachment smasher:
Exalted Champion with Halberd
Amulet of Chaos
I cram the chariot into the front parent unit on the charge. His detachments, assuming both are not ranged attackers, counter charge into the sides of the chariot. Now i have base contact with 4 in the front and 5 on each side! In the magic phase that follows the charge moves he takes 14 St tests with a 66% chance of failing it and taking wounds even before impact and combat is worked out! That's a nasty surprise
Hmm... Nasty! A Chariot able to take on a fully ranked up unit, and detatchments! Combine that with the Bane Shield maybe? Or even the Berserker sword!
Hmmm I like this combination. It might just fit well into my chaos cavalry army. ;Y
Basically life sucks, there is only war and you're probably gonna get eaten by Tyranids, have fun.
Very nice8Y. But Im going to assume a couple cannons make it into his list. And if they are already there why doesnt he just shot the bugger ?
