Alright, I have been contemplating making a Templar army using either Empire or Bretonnians. However, with the new Warrior of Chaos coming out, I was thinking about making a Fallen Templar's army. An army of holy knights that have been corrupted by one of the Chaos Gods. And therein lies the problem. Which God would be best or should I go just Undivided? I was leaning more towards Slaanesh, thinking that maybe they were corrupted by the pure pleasure of killing. But I am not sure, so am asking for your opinions. I am starting planning now as I am only recieving a certain amount of money every two weeks and still working on my Lizardmen army and starting Legend of the 5 Rings CCG. lol. Thank you for the help.
They don't have to be actually corrupted so obviously. There have been plenty of forces and individuals throughout 'history' that have been manipulated that they don't see the truth. For example, holy warriors believing they and only they have the way, the truth and the light, a priest slaying his lord for 'unholy' thoughts or whatever, even the elves have been messed with.
That said, if you do want a proper 'templar' army thats been messed with, I'd suggest working out what they were first, then seeing how they could change. A warrior coven is more likely to be corrupted by Slannesh (perfection in combat) or Khorne than Nurgle, for example, but a holy crusade might be mislead and turned by Tzeentch.
So what did they used to be?
At first thought, I would say go Khorne- god of martial honour.
Although Undivided, Slaanesh, or Tzeentch would also work quite well. What kind of Order did you have in mind?
mabee nurgle as i can see a templar master inches from death pleadgeing his soul and the souls of his followers in exstange for feeling no pain!!!!????

If someone helps you REP them...
I think Tzeentch is certainly a good one to go with for a corrupted force, he is the master schemer after all, think about it, it makes, by the time they would have released they have been tricked into the worship of chaos it would be far to late to turn back. Khorne certainly is another but i think having a whole army of frenzied can be a pain (dosnt stop me mind).
Anyways with tzeentch you can have things like people showing signs of mutations being excuted, the leader hiding his mutations from the others, opens alot of doors.
To be honest i plan on my Khorne army being a former knight the order, The order of the Black wolf, i think at some stage i need to find some new models to use as my Marauders to complete the theme better
Well, I was thinking of basing it upon the Templar Church from the Middle Ages, but instead of them all being killed, only part were and excommunicated. Those that remained decided to get revenge upon the church as a whole and pledged their lives to continue the fight until the church that betrayed them was brought down. They take great pleasure and enjoyment from killing those in the church and those that oppose them. So I guess you could say in Warhammer terms, they were knights from the empire that were betrayed by a corrupt Sigmarite official and are now taking revenge upon their past leaders until the church is destroyed.
Works even better with tzeentch, you see you can have tzeentch who tricked the officer into betraying the knights so the "church" set on them and thus turning them against the empire, of course you can have them as Tzeentch followers but not knowing they are, perhaps following some new god (which is really tzeentch).
You know, i think i like that idea for myself
Hmm, I could use that and say that Tzeentch is masquerading as Sigmar in the eyes of the Grand Master and his Inner Circle of Knights. Thanks for the idea HappyJim. They were corrupted, not knowing they are, by Tzeentch, were banished from the main Sigmar church, and now believe they are still following thier god when in fact it is Tzeentch. i love it. thanks.
i think it doesnt fit the fluff, cause the chaos are from nordland... but if ye like it...
Tau 5/0/1 World Eaters 0/1/0 Eldar 4/0/0 Death Guard 1/0/0 Space Marines 2/0/0
No the marauder tribe are from the north lands, archoan was actually a witch hunter You have chaos cults within the cities of the empire, Engrim van Horstman was a member of the light order and freed a chaos dragon that he now riders (also a Tzeentch guy btw).
