I'm new to WFB but have play 40k, bloodbowl and a few other games.
About 18 months ago I decided to start a chaos army but sadly it didn't really get anywhere. As it stands I have 1 box of chaos warriors, marauders, a chariot and knights.
With the new book just around the corner I am going to put what i have to gather and expand to make a playable army.
I appreciate this is a difficult period as the new book will change things but could anyone offer advice on what to get next?
I am doing a Khorne army, I was thinking perhaps some hounds and a spawn.
I think I read somewhere that hounds are useful to stop knights charging when you don't want them to, is this right?
Appreciate any help / ideas
Re: hounds stopping knights charging, it depends on what you mean. If you mean using them as screens to stop opposing knights hitting your forces, then 'no'. They'll get mooshed. If you're talking about using them as screens to stop your knights charging into the distance and being mooshed by a well-placed counter-charge, then yes, it can work. If your knights are subject to the rules for Frenzy they have to charge enemies within range and in LOS (line-of-sight) if there are any and your knights haven't already declared a charge. Putting hounds in front of your knights blocks LOS so they don't have to make those damn annoying charges.
