Say you have chosen locked in combat. You can flank the unit, do you use knights or Marauders?
If a Million Guardsmen die, that's a statistic. If one marine dies, that's a tragedy.
Knights. They're faster, so an out-manoeuvre is more realistic than with a bulky R&F unit.
Knights are proberly best flankers but more expenive but there not faster then mararuders horsemen and It really comes to what you want in the army but i believe both units would do a good enough job in the end and Also it depends on who there flanking.
It shouldn't matter, if you have chosen in the front and anything flank charging... what is going to stand up to that?

Saim-Hann Eldar: 5000 Points
It's a waste of points to flank with knights. Their use is for frontal charges - that's what you pay for. A good enough player would build the list with flanking in mind, and wouldnt put knights on that job. Of course you shouldnt let a chanse to flank an opponent slip you by, but if you had to choose between giving the flank attack or a frontal charge to knights and the same to marauder horsemen, then it's an easy choice.

I'd go for Marauder Horsemen - 5 or 6 with a musician. With the re-roll on pursuit distance combined with cancelling ranks and the damage the Chosen will inflict, you should be able to bag a whole bunch of VPs. Maybe stick MoT on 'em just to protect them a bit.
