I'm still pretty new to Chaos and the new book, but I've been looking at the Marauders and am kind of impressed by their cheap cost and power. A block of 25 Marauders w/ Shields and Light Armor is only 150 points and can give you some substantial staying power if the general is nearby. On the other end, Flails are just awesome!
How big are your marauder units, typically, what position do they fill in your army and what do they tend to arm themselves with? Do you use full-command or a subset thereof? Who typically hangs with your marauders, if anyone? Curious to see what these barbarians have done for others.
I recently played my first game with my new chaos army( a draw against a mounted DE army) and I used Wulfrik a 23 marauders (6x4) with flails and full command. I didn't give them light armour because it just woudn't really make a difference. They work really well slaying a unit of crossbow armed warriors. That was his only missile unit or else they would have killed more.
Of course I you don't use wulfrik I would take 24 with flails and use them as my cheap expendable core choice filling unit.
hope I helped you
if i were to use marauders i would take several small blocks of 10 naked men with the mark of slaanesh. Cheap and almost immune to psychology. Nice and great for blocking stuff.

"The more choices you force the opponent to make, the better the chance for you to capitalize on his mistakes"
I spend my waking hours trying to come up with all these nice things to do for my Marauders.
For cheap throwaways, 10-14 (usually 12, 7 wide at front) with Flails and MoK take the cake. 12 of them to charge headlong screaming at the enemy with Flails comes to only 90 points, and if you can be subtle about it and get them to flank, then all the better.
I have considered 25 of them with the Mark of Nurgle. With LA and Shields as well as Full Command that comes to 200 points even. 4+ in combat with -1 to shooting and -1 to the enemy's WS, they're quite a nice cheap block of course with the Psych problems still.
Speedbumps are 10-strong with MoS. Might as well give them Shields, giving them 5+ in CC.
Does anyone ever put characters in their units? It would seem having a big block of marauders led by the BSB would make a pretty rough bit of Static Combat resolution along with some added punch that a Exalted Hero brings. Plus the increased leadership and rerolls on break tests would make them pretty resilient, wouldn't it?
Also, when do you find chieftains worth it? I don't really see an extra WS4/S3 hand weapon attack as worth the points for a LA/SH/HW block. On a flail throw-away though, the extra attack could be worth it.
Even with the warshrine I think champions are only worth the points if you use them as challenge fodder so your characters can live longer.
I just got done trying 2 units of 15, musician/champion, great weapons as flanking units for 2 units of chosen. I pretty much decided its too weak and slow and does a horrible job of protecting your flanks.

I am running two blocks of 24 armed with shields & light armour with full command. This is purely for static combat res, and a place to hide both my lv 2 wizards. I have them flanked by 12 chaos warriors marked khorne with shields, GW, and a dog screen. They are the killers in this setup.
