I am making a Slannesh single god army which has entered into an unholy alliance with the Dark Elves. Slannesh provides the Dark Elves with live prey for the purposes of torture etc whilst in return the Dark Elves provide Slannesh with monstrous mounts.
So far I have a Slannesh Hero/Lord on a Carnosaur and Knights mounted on cold ones.
My question concerns the flanks. On one of the flanks are spawn and on the other a chaos giant. But not the normal giants or spawn.....
I was thinking of using something like Raveners for Spawn and a Tyranid Trygon for the giant. Now, I obviously need to put Slaneesh like whips/tentacles/claws on them.
So my question, would chaos spawn arms etc fit with Raveners and a Trygon or can anyone think of any other possible bits.
I am also thinking of any other ways I can add converted models into my army to maintain the Dark Elf alliance providing Slannesh with monstrous mounts/creatures.
I hope this makes sense.
The Trigon is gonna be too big to be a giant, it won't fit on the base.
Raveners as spawn could work, although I think the box we have now is more the adequate.
Edit: If you're dead-set on blowing your money on forgeworld models, the Malanthrope might be the size you're looking for.

Trust in your core choices - love them, hate them, wish them dead to clear charges, but remember that come end they will pull off a miracle for you.
The thing is that I already have a Trygon so I won't need to 'blow' any money. It fits in well with my scheme.
Any further thoughts bearing in mind the savage creatures fluff bit?
What base size is a giant?
And I assume that the whole model doesn't have to fit over the base. In 40K models overhang their bases, GK Terminators with their force weapons spring to mind.
So, if I take the Giant base size then convert the Trygon model by re-shaping its tail so that it snakes upwards into the air (instead of being coiled on the ground) is there a problem?
Thanks for any comments,
A Giants base is 50 by 70 i think..... Although mines the Marauder one so it's 50 by 50
Why don't you use the Rules for a shaggoth for your nid Beasty?
I can't see the Trygon 'picking' something up and stuffing it down his trousers.
Images of edward scissor hands playing with a kitten spring to mind.
The Higher WS and Iinitiative would suit it better as well....oh and the the Shaggoths higher movement to represent it being....er.....more slithery.
Shaggoth with additional hand weapons???
Just a thought
So working overnight's has given me a lot of time to look around, and i compiled this small list and if it sounds good just let me know and i'll do a little bit more indepth searching. i'm also a newb to the game so i'm not sure about model size or base sizes (which is really hard to tell in there pictures lol...) but hopefully this can help you some ...oh this are all wh 40k models i found off the gw site :
Daemon hunters Culexus Assassin #1: for spawn, head only, might some how kit bash that onto something else
Daemon hunters Daemon Host #1: for spawn, reworked a little and kit bashed, make take out a few of the locks??
Chaos space marine Obliterator #1 or 2: for spawn, might work
Chaos space marine Summon Daemon Horrors: for spawn, kit bash them together to make 1 thing?
Chaos space marine Summoned Daemons Keper Of Secrets: for giant, the model looked big and it has extra arms and pinchy stuff
Chaos Daemons Epidemius: for spawn, *shrugs* ...maybe?
Chaos Daemons Fiend of Slaanesh #1-3: for spawn, could work as well or maybe kit bashed together
Chaos Daemons Nurglings: for spawn, these guy's could be kit bashed onto something but i think they have the right base size for the spawns
Chaos Daemons Daemon Prince: for giant, this model looks really cool, just really unsure of it's size
well hopefully i helped at least a little bit
