DANGIT! I gotta get back home to see my WoC book, I know there was some spell in the Lore of Slaanesh that looked really wicked to me.

You're probably thinking of Ecstatic Seizures...makes every model in a unit take a toughness test, fail and TAKE a wound. Use it against Elves and it'd massacre them

I'm still a huge fan of Titillating Delusions, best way to shift a big block of anything or get Kairos to walk up to your Lord and proceed to get plucked.

Thats it! The one that makes an enemy unit try to get to a point you designate as fast as possible. Should be useful against those damn flying heralds of tzeentch and the like.

Siezures should be very nice as well.

By the way, Happy holidays everyone!

I voted nurgle but since your struggling to choose out of the 3 marks i would just take a mixed army that has already been mentioned you cant go wrong there also. I've been told taking for than 1 mark is a great to counter any army in the game.

If your fighting fear armies then mark of slannesh, horde or shooting heavy armies mark of nurgle fits the spot there. Tzeentch is well more defensive mark to use but powerful offensive magic.

I think it really depends. If you really want a mono-god army then I think slaanesh is the safest bet given its cheap cost and essential immunity to psychology it gives.

However, I see no reason to limit yourself. Slaanesh is great on rank and file troops like marauders and even warriors. Some characters that you want to tangle with terror causing monstrosities also benefit from slaanesh mark. However, Nurgle is great on Knights who are already fear causing and don't benefit much from slaanesh but do benefit greatly from the -1 to hit the MoN gives. Same goes for units like Chaos Ogres.

On sorcs the lore of Nurgle is really good for enemy character assassination. The lore of slaanesh of course is good to mess with an enemies leadership.

Although I prefer Tzeentch for my sorcs, I only use MoS and MoN on my other choices as both are great and when used on the right units work wonders for a great army.

Well I'm not choosing between 3, I just got confused between the spell lore choices.

I also understand that using multiple marks is probably much more optimal that going with a mono god list. I'm not a huge fan of this just from personal taste though. I will however have 2 nurgle and tzeentch sorcerers following my slaanesh lord (having been dominated to follow his will by mind altering slaaneshi magics).

That's really as far as I feel comfortable going where it comes to mixing marks.

--EDIT--

Well, it seems that after being 7-1 in slaanesh's favor, nurgle has made a sudden surge and taken the lead. Anyone care to follow their votes up with some reasoning behind them? It is kinda the point of these polls

Some units do better with certain Marks and some units do better with others, that is my answer and that is why I do not vote in the poll.

For characters, Tzeentch is usually the best mark because it improves their ward save or gives them one and it is cheap as well.

For the main infantry blocks, Slaanesh keeps them from running away when units would otherwise start spreading panic and making each other run away.

For flanking Knights, Nurgle protects them from missiles and also helps out against elite infantry with WS5, making the Knights hit them on 3+ instead of 4+, and against lousy WS3 units, making them hit the Knights on 5+!

Then... for Marauders with flails or Warrior units with Great Weapons... Mark of Khorne might do well. But generally I do not like Khorne.

I had the same problem with the 'Slaneshii/Nurgle' question. My army is finally being painted in purple with a green trim, affectionately dubbed "Purple Nurgle".
Another Chaos player told me he mixes his units based upon role.

Units assigned to soak up gunfire along the front line take Nurgle
Units following these, who are going to be line breakers, take Khorne
His center usually gets Slanesh, to root them in place
while characters take Nurgle, Khorne, or Tzeentch/Slanesh (for sorcerors)

I however, am taking Nurgle the whole way across the army, or Slanesh- depending on the mood.
