Heya guys and gals.
i'm new to the whole fantasy scene and i was thinking about starting a WOC army...why?
because the warriors look cool! that's why!
i used to play a reasonable amount of 40k but the rules just got boring and i want a bit more tactics in the games.
anyway i'm looking for some pointers on starting an army with these chaos dudes. my roommate is playing wood elves though so please don't get me slaughterd every battle ...please?
his list is very melee heavy though so that might help out a bit
ow and if someone could give me some tips on how to have marauders ( i read that they are pretty nice in an army) without having the basic marauder models ( they look horrible =( ) that would be awesome ^^
well here is that annoying roommate just to help you help vid here is my 500 Points list for him to beat since this will probably be the first point lvl we will play at.
Spellsinger, treesinging Staff and lvl 2
7 WD's with Musician
Total 499 pts.
Ok now don't let him kikc my ass all the time as well good hunting boys
Brettonian men at arms
Hmm, so you're playing 500 points to start with, tough ask for Chaos Warriors, with lots of expensive stuff.
Against anyone, but Woodelves won't like them either, grab 5 Chaos Knights. Either chuck on a Standard and Muso, or go for Mark of Khorne. That 230 points.
You also need a hero, so at this points level, maybe stick with a bare Exalted. To save points, a level 1 Sorcerer is also viable, just to sling around a fireball, and get the extra dispel dive. He's also the cheapest option.
Now this uses up a LOT of points, so we need to start looking at cheap core. Chuck in some Marauders and Marauder horsemen, and you're done.
If you were keener on Warriors instead of Knights (Knights have magical attacks though, and love those Dryads, and also those Wardancers who can't flee) the Knights are basically a straight swap. You get more, but they are slower and less armored, give the WE's a chance to kill them.
As for the Marauder models...no idea. Check out the Games Workshop online store and browse through all the models. you might find something.

they have magical attacks??? since when do normale choas warriors have magical attacks?
They don`t. Pretty sure he was referring to his knights with the bracketed comments ... though I can see how you`d be confused, if can be taken either way.
Huzzee Hollanda, welkom maat!
Good luck with those WoC, kick CJ where it hurts!
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.

Ok, ok, it's been edited....
thanks tim your a cool guy
ok just a doodle see what you make of it
lvl 2 sorcerer (goes in warrior unit): 120pts
10 Warriors (FC, shields): 190
5 marauder horseman (flails, LA): 80
5 marauder horseman (flails, LA): 80
5 choas hounds 30
lot's of fast stuff to take out shooting and some magic to kill off and soften they enemy for a charge from the warriors.
Those marauder horsemen will get slaughtered by the glade guard, and the warriors won't be fast enough to get to anything without being charged first and taking considerable damage before they strike back, and then they'll lose combat anyway. I would suggest going with the knights like tim said. They are fast, heavily armoured, and can smash almost anything.
If you are going to use Marauder horsemen, make sure to put the MoS on them. That will ensure that they won't run from panic or from the dryads.
No, I don't have any wool.
