Hey everybody. I'm in the midst of building up a WoC army (previously having played Lizards and Empire) and I'm trying to build a well balanced force. As such I've been pouring over different ideas for units and whatnot and discovered that marchblocking pests could be a serious pain in the behind- anything from skirmishing missile troops to bat swarms and characters on flying mounts. Given that the other armies I've played have had fairly flexible means to stop these flying (or fast) pests, or at least minimize their impact, but with WoC I'm worried the lack of missile fire and low model count will make simply ignoring them the only standard tactical option.
granted, this very well could be a non-issue, but I'm concerned that it will be hard to avoid armies that are good at that sort of thing.
So, what do you all use to prevent such pests from being a pain?
Sorceres are an excellent start - a mounted mage in a unit of marauder horsemen should be able to draw LoS to just about anything and still be reasonably protected form missile fire.
Spawn are another fantastic option - fairly tough and can charge in any direction.
Trust in your core choices - love them, hate them, wish them dead to clear charges, but remember that come end they will pull off a miracle for you.
