I was recently at a local tournament and took a WoC list with 2 units of 5 nurgle knights(standard/musician). These guys were by far the MVP for me of the tournament. I'm not lying these 2 units single handledly beat a lizardman army.
On his turn 2 he uses the banner to move an extra D6"s to move 6 cold one riders and a BSB into the front of 1 knight unit. He gets 12 str5 shots hitting on 4s and his coldones only hit on 5s. He flopped alittle bit and I didn't miss any 3+ armor saves. I turn around and wound the BSB and kill 2 riders, he holds. Second round of combat I go first, kill the BSB and 3 more riders, he doesn't wound me back. Third round I kill the last rider. That's 388 points so far without losing a model.
On the other flank, his lord on a carnisaur eats up a unit of flail wielding khorne marauder horsemen to frenzy him and overrun into my other knight's charge range. I get a flank shot on him and put 3 wounds on the carnisaur, who can only hit me back on 5s. I don't know what exactly he had on his lord, but he didn't get through the nasty 1+ armor. The next turn he got a stegadon to counter charge my knights, but it only can hit me on 5s and his impact hits don't get through my 3+ armor save. I killed the carnisaur before he can attack, he breaks from combat. I chase down his lord on foot now and next took chase the stegadon off of the table.
We're now up to about 1000 points killed by my knights and no model lost.
Going back to the first unit. He over runs his second stegadon into my warshrine, which sets up my knights to flank charge his stegadon. These big nasty monsters hitting me on 5s is huge. 4 attacks hitting on 5s wounding on 3 averages out to less than 1 wound and I still get a 3+ armor save above that. He doesn't wound anything again and the stegadon breaks and gets run down. We're now over 1300 points killed, no knight lost.
Back to the second knights, they come back on the table and the next turn charge some kroxigors that just bounced off of a marauder unit and rallied. Did enough wounds over 2 rounds of combat to kill the unit out right, but unfortunetely lost 2 knights in the process. Still that brings us up to 1500 points killed and 2 models lost.
It seemed fitting that on turn 6 the 2 knight units met up against the guy's last unit, 12 skinks. between the 7 knights that could fit into the fight I killed only 11 of those buggers. He proceeds to roll insane courage and the game ends with 1 skink left on the table...
It roughly comes to 1550 out of 2250 points that my 500 points of knights killed. I rolled good and he rolled somewhat bad, but still that's impressive.
To make up for it, the final game I ran into 3 vampires with a TON of powerstones that all knew the entire lore of metal. Not 1 knight made it past turn 2. Don't worry my lord slayed a vamp hero and the vamp lord. Still lost by 900 points though.

I was playing a friend with Ogre Kingdoms, he's new to the hobby so I point things out tot him a bit. I told him my knights were frenzied and he should use his trappers to bait them.
Ofc I fell for it, setting my knights up for a flank charge from his IronGuts.
They rolled 4 wounds and I saved them all. Now its time for my 1 Knight and horse to attack back. I roll 4 wounds in total, he doesn't save,
I beat him only just, but he rolls 11 on the breaktest and flees.
He did manage to kill 1 knight with his trappers in the shooting phase
against lizardmen, everything was hopeless in the 3rd turn; he chose lore of metal with his slann, and I couldn't dispel anything if my life depended on it. Then though, I was in the flank zone of his templeguard with my unit of khornate knights which had 4 left (this was the only thing left on the table except for my sorcerer lord and exalted hero).
They proceeded to grind down the slann's unit over the following 3 turns, and once all temple guard were gone, I finally broke the slann (who caused fear himself because of the totem of prophecy). This unit on its own brought what was a massacre in his favour to a draw in my favour
When you are favoured by fortune then there's no losing. This can unfortunately work both for and against you. There will be times when you steamroll your opponent. At the same time there will be occasions when you are steamrolled and can't seem to make a single 2+ save.
That's the way of the dice.
I have a buddy who plays, he's a freak when it comes to dice rolling. I tell myself that probability will eventually assert itself, that he'll stop rolling 14 hits on 15 dice, someday he'll fail to make a 5+ armor save. The worst part is, when his rolling actually does return to earth for brief periods, he whines. And not just grumbling. It's flat out, piss-moan whining.
"Man, my rolling has been atrocious. How can I win? I can't win when I roll like this."
In other words, when you roll like a human being??
He's really fun to play against, otherwise, but man ... so annoying.
Congratulate the Knights on their sterling performance. You should mod one, add a severed skink head to his saddle or something, to commemorate the occasion!
Yeah. i've got a mate like that.
But he only EVER does that against me at 40k. everyone else he's a mere dice mortal. but me? His orks make more armour saves than my marines!!!
Curse his fat hairy hide!!!
He Does Deamon of Chaos for Fantasy......Figures.
The BEST my knights have ever done was charge a unit of goblins get hit by 4 fantastics on the way in. have only 1 knight left. loose combat and flee through those same 4 fantastics. He died and told Khorne he was very very sorry.
I hate frenzy. I hate fantastics.
best for me with knights would have to be my first game against a veteran dwarf player,
2 bolt throwers,
misc generals etc...
5 knights with MoT/blasted standard
khorne lord on juggernaught with runesword
10 chosen w/great weapons
5 marauder horsemen
chaos sorcerer of nurgle
exalted hero of nurgle with filth mace
his artillery whiped out my entire army except the chosen, the knights, and my lord. which whr pulling a lumberjack taking their sweet time getting into position for a viable charge(I placed them behind alot of woods b/c I wanted them to survive the shooting phase lol.
when my knights finally did hit the enemy line, I destroyed each unit in the most epic over run manouver of all time, killed his entire army in one combat phase, we whr both astounded at how good thew knights did, and since then I have added a second unit of knights for good measure

it was a mix of the two, completely destroyed one unit, over ran through two units simultainiously(they whr the same distance and I hit the 2nd one while ending my charge on the first. and the other units paniced and fleed for the hills which was kind of his fault as he placed them too close to the board edge to gain more distance in the shooting phases.

I will say the best knight performance ive ever had is when a good friend of mine and i were playing 6000 points and i had a unit of 25 knights on the table with a BSB with the most expensive banner on a jugger and 2 lords on a jugger, suffice to say whatever they hit died a most gruesome and grissely death until they were charged by a steam powered battalion (3 steam tanks and a merc giant) mind you the tanks had used 8 10 and 9 points to charge meaning 30 D3 of S6 impact hits then the giants attacks, out of the 30 D3 he got about 34 hits and only 14 wounded! which i then passed all but one, the giant rolls jump up and down, kills a knight then falls over backwards taking him out, the knights then do what i never thought possible they kill the tanks down to a wound and win the combat and that leads to the game being won.....knights are amazing, and the dice were on my side....
