Welcome to Librarium Online!
Came accross this while I was surfing around the place, didn't see it posted anywhere else:
Just goes to show the DP can work. Keep in mind, it was a tourny that had comp, but I still think he did really well.

Some argue DP lists are the only competitive lists. A tzeentch DP with tendrils is deadly.
How's book of secrets work on a BSB, I'd assume 1 die casting any 5+ spell is pointless. It doesn't make him a sorcerer so he doesn't even get the +1 to casting.

I've wondered the same thing about guys who equip combat characters with the BoS. He only generates one die to cast a 5+ spell. Does he gain the +1 to cast with MoT, even though he's not technically a Wizard ...?

The Blessed of the Four
By the pricking of my thumbs,
Something wicked this way comes.
I originally was deadset against the DP, lately though I have seriously been considering running a list with almost that exact setup. The only real difference was my tzeentzh DP was going to run splendour instead of roar. I was also gonna try to fit a second caster instead of the bsb.
Good to know such a setup can be effective.
"I am the architect of fate!"
Ive use to use a DP but then played loads of small games (not enough free time) and i had to put him on his alter, but from reading this he may come back from the realms of chaos and place his wrath upon the enemy once more!!
If you go to the 'Chosen' tactica in the GW website, you'll see them suggesting the Book of Secrets on the Choasen Champion, to form some sort of 'Magic Battery' with the Banner of Wrath. The article concludes that he can indeed cast his 1 spell, and does get +1 for the Mark of Tzeentch. Link is here if you like:
As for the DP, I'm also glad to see it work. A big part of it would be the fact most Tzeentch spells don't need line of sight I think, so you can keep him safe. He did throw in combat every now and then though, with his stubburn re-roll. Wonder if you need a BSB to make him any good?
I'm running a similar setup tomorrow, but using a Dragon. See how it goes against the new Lizards!

Dude you must let us know how that goes Im playing against Lizards in a Lustria Tornament in a few weeks need to know some good tips!!! I hate skinks!!
I plan to, don't worry I just had a peek at the new book, and they look mean. How nice that I have a lizardmen army put away in the cupboard
So appaerntly he does get the +1 to casting, so you get a spell off 50% of the time with this guy. Imagine getting flamming sword of rhuin on this guy. Ouch.
Its nasty on the day I will admit, but such armies rely too feavily on getting good spells off. The rest of the time it can end in tears. Combined Arms is always the way forward.
Basically life sucks, there is only war and you're probably gonna get eaten by Tyranids, have fun.
