I would like to give a try in making a heavy magic army, but I can't stand the whole sorcerer models: they look just too sick, fragile and weird; I can save just the sorcerer/nurgle sorcerer on steed.
I think that a chaos sorcerer should be like a heavy armoured warrior, with some kind of menacing feature like inscribed demonic skulls, spikes, chains on so forth.
I was thinking to use a warrior body, with parts from knights (weapon, head, spikes and horns), warriors (a staff converted standard and some skulls) and marauders (some chains from flails).
What do you think about it?
If you have the parts this is how i did my "Warrior" Sorcerer.
I used the Warrior legs, cut the bodies off below the belt. If you then use the knights Torso and arms you can position him however you want.
For the head i used a Hornless Marauder horseman head
You'll need to sort something about his 'bum' as it's just a gap. i just sculpted some chainmail to cover it.
You can use the Lances to make a halberdy staff type thing. The shield arm you'll need to do something with. You'll need to make an armoured Greave to match the other arm.
As for something for him to hold in his left hand, a book? Scrolls? a beating heart? Anything to represent a magic item you've given him.
If my Camera was any good i'd take a pic....but well, all you'd get is a reddish blurr on a base.
Hope that helps

I agree. The Chaos Sorcerers are supposed to be rockin' Chaos Armor! Somewhere down the road, I hope we see some official representations of our tin can Wizards.
The Blessed of the Four
By the pricking of my thumbs,
Something wicked this way comes.
I really don't get the problem moust sorcerers are pretty cool and somehow armoured in a fashion related to their patron god. Guess it's a personal thing
Ive converted both Vilitch and another sorcerer pics will be up very soon, but yeah i think they should look more like the sorcerer from the book, that pics amazing!!!
Chaos armour doesn't have to be plate. It can be "blessed" robes or lighter-than-plate armour instead.
I can see the attraction of using a Warrior conversion if you're going to be putting him in with a unit of warriors though, it's camouflage
Mysterious Member of the ANZAC Clan
He is a very cool model, I always thought of him as a Khorne sorcerer, just keep him un-marked and possibly lore of death or shadows.
are chaos sorcerors actually WYSIWYG since they don't wear any armour? (well most of them)
