After playing my Tzeentch magic army, I thought about simply swapping all the Marks of tzeentch to that of Slaanesh. It has a great effect on the infantry, but what of the magic? is it viable? How would an army of Slaanesh deal with Dragons and other large beasties? Tzeentch at least has the Gateway see...
And I'm looking to stick with a single mark.
I've used Slaanesh magic a few times mate. And to be honest i wasn't much very impressed. Helshriek looks great but most enemies are Ld8 (counting general and characters in units) So thats not amazing. the level 1 spell just isn't great, not as good as tzeentch or nurgle. The 12+ to cast spell is pretty good and the spell that makes your enemies move to a point on the board is sometimes handy. But unless you're fighting a mass hoard of low leadership death then i'd go for tzeentch or nurgle.
Even against goblins, with an orc leading the army they're LD 8 or 9....... (what i usualy fight)
Well, the key spells I'd be looking at Hysterical Frenzy, to get my Knights frenzied, Delusions, against non-ITP armies and Seizures, for nuking units. Things is, Tzeentch has the ability to dish it out against Dragons and Greater Daemons using Gateway - my concern is what would a Slaanesh list do?
I think you're right in saying the lore of Tzeentch is better, no worries there. I guess I was considering it more to give the infantry a boost - they all have the Mark of Tzeentch right now, so it's cheaper, and makes me immune to fear and such.
I guess you need hellcannons, or fighty characters. I can't see magic heavy Slaanesh being what it used to be.
Sorry started talking like a Skaven there for a moment"I wasn't much very impressed?"
Yeah but then you're only using half the Lore
The only nasty sneaky little thing i've done is cast hysterical frenzy on the enemy. If you then bait them with hounds they have to charge. So it's good for pulling enemy units out of formation and where you want them. And as it's a remains in play spell you can end it WHENEVER you want. So at the start of the close combat phase after they've charged lol.
It's pretty good to cast on enemy wizards on mounts again for getting them to charge into combat.
Don't get me wrong. It's got it's uses. You've just got to be Smart and sneaky to use it.
Alas, I'm pretty simple so can't do all that. So i'll stick to the childlike joy of explosions and big bangs.
Oh, random thought. I've used Slaanesh magic with fire magic before and thats worked pretty well. Making the enemy move through walls of fire was pretty nasty.

I tried a slaanesh lvl4 mage on a dragon with diabolic splendor. I thought it would be a nasty combo and it was to an extent. I flame templated a hydras handlers to death and the next magic phase got it to panic off the table. Besides that, it really didn't do much good.
