I want to field Sigvald, but I'm not sure the best unit to stick him in. I've got Warriors at 15, and 12 per unit, and Marauders with 20 models.
I'm tempted to put him in with a Unit of 11 (or 9?) Warriors as he's stubborn so doesn't need the rank bonus, and then try to march him through woods all the way into combat, or shield with dogs. All the units have MoS.
I'd appreciate any advice on tactics as I really like the Sigvald model and fluff, but I'm very much a noob when it comes to tactics.
You may still want some rank bonuses for making sure you win the combat though
I tend to like running my warriors 6 wide (Slaanesh!) but that does get expensive at 3 ranks, so a unit of 14 (plus Sig) should do I think. I'd be tempted to chuck some kind of magic banner on the unit too.
What weapon load out are you thinking for the warriors?
Also, how many points is this army going to be, the minimum 2k?
If so you may find it hard to fit in any other characters in the list, maybe a cheap scroll caddy.

This is my first Warhammer army and I've been building it up from 500pts over the last couple of months. I'm now aiming at 2000pts.
Without turning it into an army list critique (which I also need ) the army is:
Hero on a Chaos mount
Lvl 1 Sorcerer with 2x scroll and Chaos mount
12 Warriors (hand weapon and shield)
15 Warriors (hand weapon and Shield)
20 Marauders (Hand weapon and shield)
2 x 5 Warhounds
5 Marauder Horse (flails and axes, with Sorcerer)
5 Knights (with Hero)
3 Dragon Ogres with GW
I've about 50 points left for items.
I'm not used to using fast cav, but having the sorceror with the horsemen will limit their usefulness a bit. I believe it stops them being fast cav, or at least makes baiting and fleeing with them potentially costly.
You could put it in with the foot marauders, as it still won't be picked out by shooting and gives them leadership 8 should you for some reason be outside Sig's Ld range.
The list doesn't seem too bad, but you may want to have more people critique it on the army list section. I am not exactly an expert

I run Sigvald (well the model i use for sigvald anyway) in a big unit of chosen, as befits his station. It makes the unit a rock of an anvil unit. Especially if they're Slaanesh. I generally have my BSB near the unit too. So they're LD10, imune to fear, terror, panic and subborn. AND if they fail a LD test they can re-roll it.
I've got a warshrine backing them up aswell, Giving sigvald +1 strength is just evil i'm telling you! i've done it!!!! Evil i tell you!!!
But to be honest. Having a hero worth 400pts in a 2000pt game is FAR to much of a point sink if you ask me. Not that you are but i'm gonna say it anyway! lol. I only take her (him) in 3000pts.
While it's a big chunk of your army at 400 pts, I think Sigvald is still worth it in a 2000 pts army. He's a killing machine, and provides Stubborn AND a Ld 10. That means only a 1/12 chance that he'll fail it.
Put him in a solid block of Chaos Warriors or Chosen. Even if you get charged, you'll pass the break test, and Chaos Warriors will have the best in about any ongoing combat with their high initiative and good armor. Also he'll make the unit ignore difficult terrain, which will make your warriors get even faster into CC.
