    how to field my marauders

I have 50 Marauder models, atm 27 armed with HW/Shield including full command, and 23 models without arms etc.

I was planning on using 2x25 MoN HW/Shield full command units. But with the new faq I'm not sure about MoN anymore. Actually I'm pretty sure that I wont be fielding mass Nurgle Marauders.

So I was thinking about how to field them. I like atleast one big unit with HW/Shield probably MoS for reliability.
But what about the other 20/25 Marauders?

I could just wack down a 50 strong MoS full equip unit with a BattleStandard Bearer carrying the Raptorous Standard (on Palanquin) for ultimate staying power.

Or the same setup but then 30 strong, with 2x10 GW wielding naked marauders to work as attachment.

Or re-arm the lot and field 5x10 strong GW Marauders.

    As for the rest of the army;
I was planning on going magic heavy with a BSB.
One unit of Chosen, Halberds, Shield, Blasted Standard.
    Some horsemen and some hounds.
Most likely no knights, Maybe a Shrine or 2.
    oh, and 5xtrolls.

Im liking the 1x30 +2x10 combo atm the most. Esp with the rest of the force.

Gimme some more ideas and stuff to think about

Do like me, buy 50 of them (check), play them a few times (check), then place them on shelf to collect dust!

Seriously, marauders are just bad =/

The Only way I take them is 6x2 mark of khorne with flails and a musician, put them beside something with some staying power and they add some nice flank attacks, that's about it =/

At the moment im toying with the idea of 2 blocks of 20 with HW and shield for the save along with fails, so if i get charged by s3 things i use HW and Shield and with the Fails ready for when they charge against things tht will negate their save and or T4.

Its worked in the few games i have played so far, and the MoS is a must. I have had a 20 Strong Warriors unit run off the board thanks to a failed terror test but the marauders stand their ground.

    Take them with Wulfrik.

    Baring that give them Festus.

Barring that, just don't take them.

It's not that at all. Marauders are actually fairly decent for their points, about equal to Empire Swordsmen, really. The biggest flaw they have is being Core choices in the book with Chaos Warriors and Marauder Horsemen.

25 full command mark of slaanesh. Don't listen to the above. Marauders are great. They keep you in the game. It gives the enemy something they can't ignore, magic or shoot off the table (warriors die in droves when fielded in small units like a lot of these guys do)

That's the problem though. They ignore the marauders and destroy your warriors and when your marauders finally make it to their line, they die enmass.

Exactly, They know the marauders are there to soak damage for your other units so they just ignore them...

A unit of 15 marauders with light armor and great weapons and Festus with mark of Slaanesh is a pretty mean dish, basically you have a rerollable 5+ save AND poisoned attacks. plus if Festus gets curse of the leper off on their target unit, they cut through them like soft bree
